Middlefield Cheese Listeria Recall

Middlefield Original Cheese Co-Op in Ohio has issued a recall for five cheeses that may be contaminated with Listeria. The recalled cheese was sold at the Middlefield Original Cheese Co-Op facility in Middlefield, Ohio, between July 14, 2025, and August 7, 2025.

Listeria Symptoms

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth. Symptoms usually appear within one to 14 days of exposure but can sometimes take as long as 10 weeks to develop. They include:

  • High fever
  • Severe headache
  • Siff neck and other muscle stiffness
  • Nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea
