Boar’s Head grated pecorino romano cheese and products containing it have been recalled for Listeria. Customers who have purchased these items should not eat them as Listeria can cause severe illness that is sometimes fatal. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.

Symptoms of a Listeria Infection
Symptoms of a Listeria infection usually appear within 24 hours of eating contaminated food, but can sometimes take as long as 10 weeks to develop. They include:

- Stiff neck
- High fever
- Other muscle stiffness
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Loss of balance, confusion, convulsions.
Pregnant women can suffer a miscarriage or stillbirth even if they only experience mild flu-like symptoms.
