Sam Sung Soybean Sprout Listeria Recall

Sam Sung soybean sprouts have been recalled for Listeria. The products had a “sell by” date of December 14, 2023, customers who purchased and have consumed these sprouts should monitor themselves for symptoms of Listeria which include:

  • High fever, stiff neck, and other muscle aches
  • Severe headache, loss of balance, confusion, and convulsions
  • Upset stomach or diarrhea

Symptoms of a Listeria infection often appear within 24 hours of exposure but sometimes can take as long as 70 days to develop. Listeria poses a heightened risk to people who are 65 and over and those who have weakened immune systems. Pregnant women are 20 times more likely than other people to contract Listeria infections. They can suffer misscarriages or stillbirths even if they only experience mild, flu-like symptoms.

Sam Sung Soybean Listeria Recall

On December 28, 2023, Nam & Son of MD DBA Sam Sung S & M Food issued a Listeria recall for Sam Sung soybean sprouts distributed to stores in Virginia on Decemebr 6 and December 7. They were sold n 1-lb bags with a “Sell By” date of December 14, 2023. The company was not aware of any associated illnesses, according to its recall notice.
