Cadia, Trader Joe’s Frozen Fruit Listeria Recall

Scenic Fruit of Gresham, OR had issued a Listeria recall for Cadia brand organic pineapple and Trader Joe’s Organic Tropical Fruit Blend frozen fruit. Consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it as Listeria can cause severe illness and death. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.

In the recall notice, the company said it was not aware of any illnesses and was alerted to the problem by one of its suppliers. The recall includes:

Listeria Symptoms

Symptoms of a Listeria infection, which include high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, and loss of balance, usually develop within 24 hours of exposure, but can sometimes take as long as 70 days to appear. Pregnant women can suffer miscarriages and stillbirths even if they only experience mild symptoms.
