Raw Frozen Primal Patties for Dogs Beef Formula has been recalled for Listeria posing a risk to pets and the humans who feed them. On July 6, 2022, Primal Pet Foods of Fairfield, CA issued a Listeria recall for Primal Patties for Dogs after routine sampling tests performed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) were positive for Listeria.

Usually, Listeria doesn’t cause illness in dogs, but people who handle contaminated pet food can become ill. In Humans, symptoms of a Listeria infection include severe headache, stiff neck, other muscle stiffness, loss of balance, confusion, and convulsions. Sometimes these symptoms are preceded by nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
