Shrimp Listeria Recall at Winn Dixie, Harveys and Fresco Y Mas

Fisherman’s Wharf brand frozen shrimp is being recalled for Listeria at Winn Dixie, Harveys, and Fresco Y Mas stores. Consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. Among pregnant women, Listeria infections can cause miscarriage and stillbirth.

Southeastern Grocers, which operates all three grocery store chains, issued the recall on November 2. The shrimp recall is for:

  •  16 oz. Fisherman’s Wharf Brand Frozen Jumbo Cooked Shrimp
  • 16-20 count
  • UPC 2114003262
  • Best-By date of 4/5/2023.

Consumers who ate this product prior to the recall should monitor themselves for symptoms of a Listeria infection which can take as long as 70 days to develop. They include high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, other muscle stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.  Listeria infections can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
