Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors The ‘Phoenix World Burn Congress (WBC): Engage.’ conference is this Friday, May 14th. The Phoenix WBC is a single-day virtual event that provides opportunities for members of the burn community around the world to learn, heal, and connect.

Keynote speaker Sonya Renee Taylor will kick off the day’s events with the keynote message, “The Body is Not An Apology.” Taylor is the Founder and Radical Executive Officer of the digital media and education company, The Body is Not An Apology, which promotes radical self-love and body empowerment as the foundational tool for social justice and global transformation. Offerings throughout the day include networking opportunities, learning sessions (general, self-care, physical, parent/caregiver), and live open mic sessions where survivors are invited to share their stories. During the week leading up to the WBC, the Phoenix Society will host virtual support groups for burn survivors and their loved ones as well as a virtual yoga class.
