Wegmans Fresh Lemon and Valencia Orange Listeria Recall

Wegmans has issued a recall for fresh lemons, Valencia oranges and dozens of products containing them for potential Listeria contamination. The products recalled for Listeria risk were sold at Wegmans locations in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

At the time of the recall, illnesses had not been reported, the company stated in the recall. But because Listeria can cause serious illness and death, consumers who have purchased whole Valencia oranges, whole lemons and products containing them should check recall information carefully. The recall includes: whole Valencia oranges, whole lemons, and products containing fresh lemon juice or lemon slices including asparagus with lemon zest, veggie pizza, crab cakes, fish cakes, lobster rolls, chicken cutlets, pork cutlets, fish sandwiches and hot fish meals.
