A dog bite attack seriously injured an 8-month-old baby in Minneapolis on Tuesday. The dog also attacked the baby’s mother, who was trying to save her child from being mauled by the dog. The incident occurred around 10:00 PM on the 3300 block of North Penn Avenue. The police report says that officers responded to an “animal call” and found the victims in critical condition. The baby’s mother suffered serious injuries to her hands when she tried to free her baby from the dog’s jaw. Animal control took possession of the dog after the attack and later euthanized it. A member of the crisis response team said that the dog was a pit bull.
