Country Fresh Expands Listeria Recall for Cut Fruit

Country Fresh has expanded the recall for cut fruit that may be contaminated with Listeria sold at Walmart and Racetrac stores. The recalled fruit, packaged in clear, plastic clamshell containers, includes apples, mango, pineapple and cantaloupe.

Symptoms of a Listeria infection include high fever, severe headache, muscle stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage, stillbirth or premature delivery of an infected newborn.

The recalled fruit was sent to distribution centers and retail stores in AR, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MO, OK, and TX. The “best if used by” dates range from October 3, 2020 and October 11, 2020. To see UPC codes, click the first link in this post.
