Fayette Mall Food Poisoning Outbreak Sickens 150 in Lexington, KY

The Fayette Mall in Lexington, KY has been closed for a deep cleaning after 150 people got food poisoning after eating there. Health officials have not yet pinpointed what type of bug has caused the outbreak but believe it is being transmitted from person-to-person rather than being linked to a particular food.

Those who have been sickened developed symptoms including abdominal cramps and diarrhea.

Last week, the Chi-Fil-A in the food court voluntarily closed to deep-clean the restaurant and sanitize equipment after a number of employees there fell ill. The Chick-fil-A owner told local media that he hoped the store would re-open on Monday and would submit to a health department inspection before resuming operations.
