Chuck E. Cheese Norovirus Outbreak in Woodbury, MN, 2015

At least 30 cases of suspected norovirus have been associated with eating at a Chuck E. Cheese’s restaurant in Woodbury, MN. They ate at the restaurant last weekend, January 4-5, 2015.

The investigation is being spearheaded by the Washington County Public Health Department. County health workers are aware of about 30 households where someone ate at the Chuck E. Cheese restaurant and then suffered gastrointestinal illness.

The restaurant closed Tuesday evening for cleaning and was open again Wednesday afternoon.

The preliminary investigation found that most of the people who were sickened ate at the restaurant on Saturday.

In the spring of 2014, health officials in Hennepin County investigated a similar norovirus outbreak at a Chuck E. Cheese’s in Maple Grove.
