Wegmans Mixed Nuts Salmonella Recall

Wegmans Deluxe Mixed Nuts have been recalled for Salmonella. Consumers should not eat these recalled items as Salmonella can cause severe, sometimes fatal illness.

On December 5, Mellace Family Brands California, Inc. of Warren, OH issued a Salmonella recall for deluxe nuts sold in two sizes: 34 oz and 11.5 oz.

Salmonella Symptoms

Usually, Salmonella symptoms appear within six to 72 hours of exposure. They include:

  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea that is sometimes bloody

In some cases, the infection can travel to the bloodstream producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, \endocarditis, and reactive arthritis.
