Organic Traditions Pumpkin Seed Salmonella Recall

Organic Traditions jumbo pumpkin seeds have been recalled for Salmonella. The recalled seeds were sold at stores in New Jersey, New York, Virginia and through mail order. Customers who have recently purchased pumpkin seeds should carefully check recall information.

Pumpkin Seed Salmonella Recall

Ontario-based Advantage Health Matters issued the recall on May 8 after a supplier in a different country issued a recall. The company has temporarily suspended production to continue the investigation into the source of the problem.

Salmonella Symptoms

Usually, symptoms of a Salmonella infection develop within six to 72 hours after eating contaminated food. They include nausea, abdominal cramps, fever, vomiting and diarrhea that can be bloody. At the time of the recall, the company stated it was not aware of any illnesses.
