The Wisconsin patients, who are part of a 23-state outbreak that has sickened 102 people, reported onset-of-illness dates ranging from November 7 – November 19, 2019. State health officials have interviewed the patients 97 percent of whom reported eating leafy greens in the week before they became ill.

Symptoms of an E. coli infection include abdominal cramping and diarrhea that can be bloody. Anyone who has eaten salad containing romaine lettuce from Salinas and develops these symptoms should see a doctor right away.
