Injuries Prompt Empower Juicer Recall – Sold at Target, Walmart

Empower PowerXL Self-Cleaning Juicers are under recall after reports of injuries. At the time of the recall, the company had received 261 incident reports including 47 injuries. Some of the injuries included lacerations requiring stitches, bruises, and ingestion of small particles.

The recalled juicers were sold at Target, Walmart, BJ’s Wholesale Club, CVS, Kohl’s, Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx, Amazon, and other stores nationwide from September 2020 through August 2022 for between $65 and $100. They were made in China and sold in the U.S. by Tristar Products Inc., of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, until February 17, 2022, and by Tristar Products Inc. on behalf of Empower Brands LLC, of Middleton, Wisconsin after February 17, 2022.
