People get Legionnaires’ disease when they breathe in water vapor containing Legionella bacteria. Symptoms of an infection are similar to a severe form of pneumonia. They include high fever, headache, muscle aches, fatigue and shortness of breath.

Water restrictions have been put in place at Balmoral. And the staff has also installed water filters in certain areas of the facility. State health officials are awaiting results on tests of water samples.

Admiral of the Lake has hired a water management company and is working to identify any additional cases.
