Recent Baby Product Recalls
According to an investigation by Consumer Reports, unsafe inclined-sleepers have caused at least 50 infant deaths. Designed for infants to sleep at an incline between 10 and 30 degrees, the products increase the likelihood of airway compression and suffocation. Pediatricians say babies should sleep unrestrained on their backs, on a firm and flat surface. Recent recalls for inclined-sleeper products include the following.
- Fisher-Price recalled 4.7 million Rock N’ Play Sleepers that caused over 30 infant fatalities
- Kids II recalled Rocking Sleepers sold at Walmart, Target, and Toys “R” US after 5 infant deaths were reported
