Toyota Recall: Accelerator Pedal May Get Stuck
Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc, announced on January 21, 2010 that it would recall approximately 2.3 million vehicles to correct sticking accelerator pedals on specific Toyota Division models.

Toyota Recall: Floor Mat and Stuck Accelerator Issues
Lexus and Toyota recalled over 4 million vehicles because the removable floor mats could cause the accelerator ot get stuck open under certain circumstances. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) had previously warned Lexus and Toyota owners of the problem and urged them to remove the floor mats on the driver's side.

Toyota Recall: Lexus and Toyota Prius Brakes Problem
Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc, announced it will conduct a voluntary safety recall on approximately 133,000 2010 Model Year Prius vehicles and 14,500 Lexus Division 2010 HS 250h vehicles to update software in the vehicle’s anti-lock brake system (ABS).

Toyota Class Action Lawsuit
Toyota class action lawsuits have been filed on behalf of owners of recalled Toyota and Lexus owners and used car dealerships. These class action lawsuits are seeking compensatory and punitive damages. The punitive damages claims allege a pattern of fraud and other behavior that injured and killed consumers and economically damaged car dealers.

Toyota Scion Recalls: Faulty Cruise Control
Gulf States Toyota is recalling 1,372 MY 2006-2007 Scion xA and xB passenger vehicles equipped with Rostra Precision Controls' speed controls. These controls were installed by Gulf States Toyota (GST) dealers or at their vehicle processing center. When the speed control "on/off" switch is pressed once to turn the unit off, the throttle does not return to idle. When the "on/off" switch is pressed a second time, the throttle will return to idle. A crash could occur in the event that the cruise control does not allow the engine to return to idle on the first depression of the "on/off" switch. Dealers will inspect and/or replace the speed control module. The manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule for this campaign.

Toyota Sequoia and Tundra Recall
January 22, 2007 – Toyota is recalling 533,124 Sequoia SUVs and Tundra trucks (model years 2004-07) because of a steering defect. According to Toyota, there have been 11 reported accidents and 6 injuries as a result of the steering defect. Learn more about the Toyota Sequoia and Tundra recall.

Toyota Camry Recall: Air Bag Defect/Failure
Toyota is recalling 160 MY 2007 Camry Solara vehicles equipped with curtain side air bags (CSA). The CSA tether strap located in the front pillars may have been incorrectly routed during the assembly process. If the tether strap is not correctly routed, the front side of the CSA may not deploy as designed, which may result in insufficient occupant protection during a side impact crash or rollover event. Dealers will inspect both CSA front tether straps, and if necessary, reroute them.
