  • If you have been injured in any kind of accident that was someone else’s fault, you have the right to be reimbursed for a number of things, including property damage, medical expenses, lost wages, permanent injury, and pain and suffering.
  • If you’ve been injured in snowmobile accident and you’re still having problems, you should be examined by a doctor as soon as possible. Some head injuries and injuries to the neck and back may seem small at first, but can turn into major problems with life long disability if not treated promptly.
  • Keep good records. You must have information about the other person’s license number, address, telephone, passengers, and insurance. Write down information about witnesses and anything regarding the location of the accident. If someone has investigated the case, get the name of that person, too.
  • Protect yourself. Some people run into trouble because they don’t understand who’s playing on which team. Do not make any of the following mistakes:
    • Do not speak to the other person’s insurance company and do not give any recorded statements. You are not obligated to do so.
    • Do not talk to anybody about your case except your doctor, your insurance company and law enforcement officials.
    • Do not wait to speak with an experienced personal injury lawyer.
    • Most importantly, do not sign any release forms. We can’t emphasize this enough. If you do not fully understand what the papers are about, do not put your name on them. Once you settle your case, you won’t be able to get anything else.
