Lawyer for Loss of Smell
Our law firm is no longer taking these cases. Thank you for visiting our website. Personal injury lawyer in Minnesota.
A June 16, 2009 FDA warning regarding Zicam stated that since the introduction of Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel to the market in 1999, FDA has received more than 130 reports of anosmia associated with the use of Zicam zinc-containing intranasal products. The reports vary. Many people state that the loss of sense of smell occurred with the first dose of the Zicam product, although some people report it happened after later doses. The Zicam-related loss of smell appears to be linked to the presence of zinc gluconate, which can damage nerves in the nasal cavity.
These reports along with other evidence point to the use of Zicam as being the cause of the loss of smell. appear to be linked to the presence of zinc gluconate, which can damage nerves in the nasal cavity.
Prompted by this FDA warning, Matrixx Initiatives, Inc., aka Zicam LLC, initiated a Zicam recall.
