Pennsylvania Semi Trailer Collision

In October of 2008, an SUV collided into a semi truck trailer that was stretched across Route 453 just outside of Tyrone, Pennsylvania.  The driver of the SUV, a 79-year-old man, died.  According to the police statement, the truck driver was attempting to back up and allowed his trailer to cross the wrong lane.

According to officials, Ralph Krauss of Houtzdale, the driver of the SUV, was declared dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma.  This tragic collision wedged the SUV under the trailer and required hours to extricate the body from the wreckage.
