Yamaha Rhino Recall

We are representing several people whose legs and arms were crushed in Yamaha Rhino rollover accidents.  These accidents involve Yamaha Rhino models manufactured since 2003.  Yamaha has not initiated a Yamaha Rhino 660 recall or a pre-2008 Yamaha Rhino 450 recall. The Yamaha Rhino recalls only involve Model Year 2008 Yamaha Rhino YXR450 and YXR700 Side-by-Side Vehicles. Read about the Yamaha Rhino ATV recall involving these 2008 models. If you have been injured in any Yamaha Rhino accident and want Yamaha Rhino lawsuit information, please contact attorney Fred Pritzker, managing attorney for the Yamaha Rhino cases, at 1-888-377-8900 (toll-free) or email Fred. Attorney Fred Pritzker was recently interviewed by an NBC affiliate regarding the death of a 12-year-old girl in California and Yamaha Rhino accident claims.

Although lawsuits have been filed regarding injuries and death associated with Yamaha Rhino rollover accidents, Yamaha has not issued a Yamaha Rhino recall involving these vehicles as explained above.  Because the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission does not have the authority to recall products, Yamaha will have to initiate a voluntary Yamaha Rhino recall on the Yamaha Rhino 660 and 450 models involved in the Yamaha Rhino rollover accidents if there is going to be a recall of these vehicles due to their allegedly defective design.

Pritzker | Ruohonen, a premier product liability law firm, is handling cases involving Yamaha Rhino accidents.  Even if there is not a Yamaha Rhino recall involving the older-model Yamaha Rhino side-by-side ATVs, you may have a case against Yamaha Motor Corporation and other parties.  To contact a lawyer at Pritzker | Ruohonen regarding a possible Yamaha Rhino lawsuit, please call toll-free at 1-888-377-8900 or submit the firms online free case consultation form. Yamaha Letter Regarding Warning Labels – Not a Yamaha Rhino Recall of the Yamaha Rhino 660 or
Pre-2008 Yamaha Rhino 450

In September 2006, Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, sent letters to customers regarding the Yamaha Rhino.  This letter was a warning, not a Yamaha Rhino recall.  Below is an excerpt from the letter sent to Yamaha Rhino customers:

As with any off-road capable vehicle, there is a risk of tip over or rollover under certain conditions. Uneven terrain or slopes which pitch the vehicle sideways, turning too fast or sharp, or a combination of conditions increase the risk of tip over. . . However, if you are in a situation where the vehicle is tipping over, do not put your arm or leg outside the vehicle to try to stop it. You could be severely injured. You could suffer a crushed hard, arm, leg, or foot, if part of your body is caught underneath the vehicle. You must keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until it has stopped moving. . . To help remind you and other operators or passengers in your Rhino of this important information, Yamaha has prepared new warning labels, one for each side of the enclosure. We recommend you install these labels on your Rhino or have your authorized Yamaha dealer install them for you.

Yamaha Offer to Install Doors and Additional Passenger Handholds – Not a Yamaha Rhino Recall of
the Yamaha Rhino 660 or Pre-2008 Yamaha Rhino 450

Yamaha Motor Corporation is offering Rhino customers doors and additional passenger handholds.  The following is an excerpt from Yamaha’s website:

Yamaha has developed new doors and additional passenger handholds for the Rhino. These new features, as shown in the pictures below, are designed to help keep occupants from sticking arms or legs out of the vehicle in response to a side rollover. They may also enhance passenger stability and comfort. Yamaha recommends that Rhino owners have these doors and handholds installed on their Rhino vehicles.
