North American Van Lines Truck Accident Information

In the two years prior to November 24, 2008, North American Van Lines was involved in 70 accidents, 14 resulting in injury and 4 resulting in fatalities, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)1.

  • In Alabama, a North American Van Lines truck allegedly lost two left wheels while traveling through a construction site. One wheel struck two men working on an overpass, with one sustaining injuries requiring hospitalization (Salter v.   • In Missoula, Montana, a North American Van Lines truck was involved in a collision with three vehicles after jackknifing on an icy highway. The court found North American Van Lines responsible for the accident, which resulted in three deaths and multiple injuries (Kalland v. North American Van Lines, Inc.)3.
  • In Illinois, a North American Van Lines truck was involved in a collision while blocking three lanes of traffic after attempting to U-turn onto a blocked off street. The driver of the other vehicle died instantly. North American Van Lines was later accused of failing to place signs alerting other drivers to the stalled truck (Steward v. Crissell and North American Van Lines, Inc.)4.
  • In Tulsa, Oklahoma, a North American Van Lines truck allegedly collided with a car while heading westbound on an interstate. The driver of the car suffered injuries and later sought damages for pain and suffering (Shreck v. North American Van Lines, Inc.)5.
