Ski-Doo Recall Due to Explosion Hazard
May 21, 2008 - BRP U.S. Inc., a Wisconsin firm, has recalled about 400 Ski-Doo snowmobiles because they may explode under certain conditions. Accoding to the company, under extreme cold and dry weather conditions, an explosion could occur because of sparking in the fuel tank when it is partially filled with gasoline at a low vapor pressure and the engine is left idling.
The explosion could cause serious injuries or death. To date, BRP U.S. Inc. has received four reports of explosions, one involving burns to legs, fingers and face.
This Ski-Doo recall involves Ski-Doo® model names listed below. Model names are located on the side panel.

The Ski-Doo snowmobiles that are the subject of this Ski-Doo recall were sold by dealers nationwide from March 2004 through March 2007 for between $9,000 and $10,000.
