Salmonella Senftenberg Outbreak Linked to Arby’s
Grant County Health District and their regional epidemiologist, with cooperation from the State Department of Health, have linked some of the reported 17 cases of Salmonella Senftenberg to the Arby’s Restaurant on Stratford Road in Moses Lake, Washington. Because not all cases have been linked to the restaurant at this time, investigation of other potential sources continues.
About 2,000 different types of Salmonella exist. The type of Salmonella involved in this outbreak, Salmonella Senftenberg, is rare and caused less than 0.1% of all Salmonella cases in Washington in 2006.
You should be tested for Salmonella Senftenberg if you experience the following symptoms, which generally appear one to three days after exposure: Severe diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, fever, chills, abdominal discomfort, and occasionally vomiting.
If you are diagnosed with Salmonella Senftenberg, you may have a claim against Arby’s. A lawsuit in a Salmonella case can include claims against franchisors, franchisees, food manufacturers, distributors, and others.
