Maramont Beef Patty Recall
On December 25, 2007, the Maramont Corporation, a New York firm, recalled approximately 88 pounds of a beef patty product that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Learn more about the Maramont beef patty recall and a possible Maramont lawsuit.
Safeway Ground Beef Salmonella Outbreak
We are investigating a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Newport infections associated with Safeway ground beef. At least 38 people have been sickened in Arizona, California, Utah and Nevada. Snapps Ferry Ground Beef Recall

Sweetwater Valley Farms Cheese Recall
Sweetwater Valley Farms, Inc. of Philadelphia, Tennessee is recalling its Tennessee Aged Southern Mild Cheddar Cheese (yellow) and Tennessee Aged Southern Sharp Cheddar Cheese (yellow) because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. American Foods Ground Beef Recall
American Foods Group has recalled approximately 95,927 pounds of various coarse and fine ground beef products due to possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7. The recalled ground beef was sent to retail outlets and distributors in Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Virginia. The Illinois Department of Health is investigating 2 cases of E. coli O157:H7 associated with the recalled American Foods ground beef. Double B Foods Sausage Rolls Recall
Double B Foods, Inc. has recalled about 98,000 pounds of frozen sausage roll products due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The frozen sausage roll products were produced on various dates between Oct. 25 and Nov. 6, and were distributed to retail establishments in Texas, and institutions, catalogue sales and distribution centers in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas. Jeno's and Totino's Pizza Recall

Cargill Hamburger Recall
Pritzker | Olsen, P.A. is investigating E. coli cases that may be connected with the Sam's Club hamburger recall. The first identified victims of this outbreak were 4 Minnesota children. (Read about the Minnesota Sam's Club E. coli infections.) 5 people in Minnesota, 4 people in Wisconsin, 2 children in North Carolina, and 3 children in Tennessee have been linked to Sam's Club hamburgers processed by Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation.
Topps Hamburger Recall
Topps Meat Company has recalled approximately 21,700,000 pounds of hamburgers (expanded from 331,582 pounds) due to possible E. coli contamination. At least 40 confirmed cases of E. coli O157:H7 have been associated with Topps hamburgers. Blue Ribbon Meats Frozen Hamburgers Recall
Blue Ribbon Meats has recalled approximately 8,200 pounds of frozen hamburgers due to possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7. The recalled frozen hamburgers were sent to sent to a distributor intended for a correctional institution in Florida and to a distributor intended for a subsequent distributor in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Banquet Pot Pies
At least 238 people in 34 states have Salmonella infections associated with ConAgra / Banquet pot pies. The CDC is warning consumers not to eat any Banquet pot pies or pot pies made by ConAgra that have a printed code ending in "P9." The Wisconsin Department of Health has also issued a press release regarding the Salmonella cases in Wisconsin linked to Banquet pot pies. Metz Fresh Spinach Recall
Metz Fresh, LLC has recalled bagged spinach as a result of a positive test for Salmonella found during routine company testing. The recalled Metz Fresh spinach bears the tracking codes 12208114, 12208214 and 12208314. It was distributed in the continental United States and Canada. Piggly Wiggly Ground Beef Recall
Certain Piggly Wiggly ground beef may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Two people contracted confirmed cases of E. coli O157:H7 after eating ground beef purchased at Piggly Wiggly stores in Monroe and Sister Bay, Wisconsin. Learn more about the Piggly Wiggly ground beef recall.
Listeria: Aliki Chicken Alfredo
Aliki Foods, Inc., an Old Lyme, Connecticut, firm, is voluntarily recalling approximately 70,400 pounds of Aliki Chicken Broccoli Fettuccini Alfredo due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Read about the Aliki Chicken Alfredo recall.
Listeria: Jensen's Old Fashioned Smoke House Salmon Spread
Jensen's salmon spread recall due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a potentially fatal foodborne pathogen. Cryptosporidium in Minnesota Infant Prompts Recall of Baby's Bliss Gripe Water, Apple Flavor
Baby's Bliss Gripe Water, apple flavor, has been recalled due to possible contaminated with cryptosporidium, a parasite that can cause life-threatening intestinal infections in infants. FDA confirmed through laboratory analysis the presence of cryptosporidium after investigating the illness of a 6-week-old infant in Minnesota who consumed the product. Salmonella: Queso Cincho de Guerro
MCP Incorporated, a Wisconsin corporation, has recalled about 55,000 pounds of queso cincho—a dry, hard cheese—due to possible contamination with Salmonella. The recalled queso cincho was sold under the name “Queso Cincho de Guerro” in stores in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Texas. Learn more about the Queso Cincho de Guerro recall.
Listeria: Quong Hop Soy Deli Tofu Recall
According to a press release, Quong Hop & Co. of South San Francisco, California, has recalled some tofu products because they might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. “The recall includes all packages of Soy Deli tofu coded Dec. 17, 2007. E. coli: Stew Leonard's Ground Beef in Yonkers, New York
The Stew Leonard’s store in Yonkers, New York, has recalled 96% lean ground round because three people from one family have contracted E. coli O157:H7 infections associated with consuming ground beef sold at the store. Listeria: Jensen's Smoked Salmon Spread Recall
On September 8, 2007, Jensen's Old Fashioned Smokehouse Inc. recalled two smoked salmon spread products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Oregon and Washington Ground Beef Recall and E. coli Outbreak
At least 8 confirmed cases of potentially-deadly E. coli in Oregon and Washington have been associated with the recalled beef. As a result, the FSIS has issued an alert regarding about 41,305 pounds of ground beef due to possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7. El Rancherito E. coli Cases
According to the Effingham County Health Department, at least 6 people with confirmed cases of E. coli ate at the El Rancherito between September 11th and 13th and became ill between September 14th and 17th. Read about an El Rancherito E. coli lawsuit.
Dole Lettuce Recall
Dole Fresh Vegetables, a division of Dole Food Company, Inc., has announced a recall of all lettuce salad bearing the label "Dole Hearts Delight" sold in the U.S. and Canada with a "best if used by (BIUB)" date of September 19, 2007, and a production code of "A24924A" or "A24924B" stamped on the package due to possible contamination with E. coli. Nebraska Hamburger Recall
The USDA-FSIS has announced the recall of ground beef and buffalo meat. The recalled ground beef (mostly hamburger patties) was distributed to restaurants and institutions in Nebraska. Michigan Hamburger Recall
Abbott's Meat Inc. has recalled approximately 26,669 pounds of ground beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. The ground beef products were produced between July 12 and July 20, 2007 and were distributed to hotels, restaurants and institutions in Michigan. Learn more about the ground beef ecoli.
Botulism: Hot Dog Chili Sauce, Canned Chili and other Products
Pritzker | Olsen, P.A. has been contacted by a possible victim of the botulism outbreak linked to hot dog chili sauce. Listeria: Tennessee Chicken Leg Recall
The USDA-FSIS announced a ready-to-eat chicken leg recall due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a potentially fatal foodborne pathogen. Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Veggie Booty Snack Food

Gills Onions LLC has recalled diced yellow onions carrying the Trader Joe's name because they could be contaminated by Listeria monocytogenes. Routine testing by the California Department of Agriculture found Listeria monocytogenes in one bag of Trader Joe's diced yellow onions. Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc., a Sherman, Texas, establishment, is voluntarily recalling approximately 40,440 pounds of ground beef (hamburger) products due to possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7. Colorado Albertsons Stores - Ground Beef Recall
Pritzker Olsen is currently investigating the E. coli outbreak associated with ground beef sold at Colorado Albertsons grocery stores. This is part of a multi-state recall of ground beef issued by United Food Group LLC. At least 2 people in Colorado have contracted E. coli O157:H7 infections in this outbreak. Supervalue Ground Beef: Save-A-Lot and Albertsons Recall Due to Possible E. coli Contamintation
Supervalue has recalled ground beef sold at Albertsons stores in California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming and at Save-A-Lot stores in Arizona, California and Nevada. Supervalue issued this recall after its supplier, United Food Group LLC, recalled 75,000 pounds of ground beef (on June 6 this recall expanded to 370,000 pounds of ground beef) that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Warning Regarding Piney Ridge Farm Raw Milk
The FDA has issued a warning regarding Piney Ridge Farm raw milk due to possible Listeria contamination. Raw milk is milk that has not been pasteurized or homogenized. Two People Sickened by Tetrodotoxin-Contaminated Fish
Two people in the Chicago, Illinois, area fell ill after consuming soup made with what was believed to be "monkfish". The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) analysis of the fish confirmed the presence of life-threatening levels of tetrodotoxin, which is usually associated with certain types of pufferfish. As a result, on My 23, 2007, Hong Chang Corporation, Santa Fe Springs, California, initiated a recall of about 6200 pounds of product labeled as "monkfish" that may be pufferfish. Michigan health officials are investigating 2 cases of E. coli O157:H7 that may be associated with beef processed in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The processing company has recalled 129,000 pounds of beef. E. coli: Lunds and Byerly's Ground Beef Recall and Outbreak
Seven people, 2 children and 5 adults, have contracted E. coli O157:H7 infections that have been linked to ground beef sold at Lunds and Byerly's stores. The people became ill between April 21 and 28. The following stores are currently involved in the Lunds/Byerly's E. coli outbreak: Byerly’s St. Louis Park, Byerly’s Minnetonka, Byerly’s Chanhassen and Lunds Edina. Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson is urging consumers to check their refrigerators for Ole Mexican Foods’ Verole Queso Fresco Authentic Mexican Crumbling Cheese and Ole Fresco Authentic Mexican Crumbling Cheese. Botulism: Italian Olives
The FDA has made an urgent announcement regarding the Italian olives recalled due to possible contamination with Clostridium botulinum, which can cause botulism. The affected brands include: Bonta di Puglia, Cento, Corrado's, Dal Raccolto, Flora, Roland and Vantia. Botulism Recall: Earth's Best Organic Baby Food
February 16, 2007 - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers not to use certain jars of Earth’s Best Organic 2 Apple Peach Barley Wholesome Breakfast baby food because of the risk of contamination with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause botulism, a life-threatening illness or death. January 29, 2007- The Natural State Meat Co., a Batesville, Ark., firm, is voluntarily recalling approximately 4,240 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Botulism Recall: Russian Sea Atlantic Herring
January 30, 2007 -- Royal International Trading, Inc. is recalling uneviscerated "Russian Sea" Atlantic herring. "Russian Sea" Atlantic herring was discovered by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors during a routine inspection and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel confirmed that the fish had not been eviscerated prior to processing.
