Virginia E. coli

HUS E. coli LawsuitOur E. coli attorneys successfully represented victims of E. coli O157 outbreaks linked to ground beef, produce, water and other sources.  They have also won millions for E. coli victims who developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) (renal failure) and/or thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP).

Virginia E. coli Outbreak - 2011

A 2-year-old girl from Dryden, Virginia, was rushed to Johnson City Medical Center’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit on Sunday, June 5 after suffering with diarrhea and other symptoms common to an acute E. coli infection. Dangerous toxins produced by the E. coli bacterium (Shiga toxins) had caused hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a severe illness that causes renal failure, brain damage, pancreatitis, hypertension, blindness and a host of other serious medical problems. HUS can be fatal, as it was for this little girl.

The girl's brother also contracted an E. coli infection and is hospitalized.

Attorney Elliot Olsen, himself a father of young children, has represented young HUS victims. "In these situations, the families want to know why their children got sick and to hold those responsible accountable," stated Olsen.

To date, the source of this outbreak has not been confirmed. It is not known if this outbreak is linked to a Tennessee E. coli outbreak that has sickened 11 people in that state. Contact Elliot or another E. coli attorney at Pritzker Olsen law firm for a free consultation regarding E. coli investigations and lawsuits. Proving an E. coli case is different than other personal injury and wrongful death cases. Our law firm is one of the few in the country that practices extensively in area of E. coli food poisoning litigation.

S & S Foods, Cargill and Sodexo: Ground Beef Linked to Goshen Scout Reservation E. coli Outbreak

S & S Foods is a California company. It shipped the recalled ground beef to Cargill distribution centers located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Allentown, Pennsylvania. Cargill then sold the recalled meat to a food service provider. The food service provider for Goshen Scout Camp was Sodexo, a worldwide food service company.
