El Rancherito E. coli

ILLINOIS EL RANCHERITO LAWSUIT INFORMATION Pritzker Ruohonen, a leading foodborne illness litigation law firm, is currently representing victims of an Illinois foodborne outbreak. The firm is also investigating what appears to be an E. coli outbreak associated with El Rancherito restaurant in Effingham, Illinois. Six people have confirmed cases of E. coli O157 after eating at El Rancherito. All of them were hospitalized.
According to the Effingham County Health Department, all of the people with confirmed cases of E. coli ate at the El Rancherito between September 11th and 13th and became ill between September 14th and 17th. Health officials are looking for the source of the E. coli, which is most likely food or water at the restaurant. In an El Rancherito lawsuit, findings of health officials would be evidence.
Legally, it is not critical that the source of the El Rancherito E. coli outbreak be found. Even if the food source of an outbreak is not determined, restaurants are 100% liable for E. coli infections linked to them. Pritzker | Ruohonen has recently settled a foodborne illness case involving an outbreak that was linked to a restaurant. Although a food source of the outbreak was not conclusively determined, Pritzker | Ruohonen obtained just compensation for the victims of the outbreak.
According to the Effingham County Health Department, one of the people who has confirmed E. coli O157 is still hospitalized. E. coli is a dangerous bacterium that can cause severe dehydration and lead to hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), one of the leading causes of kidney failure in the United States. HUS can also cause serious damage to the pancreas, heart, brain, and other organs. The county would not disclose whether the person hospitalized has HUS.
