Egg Recall Prompted by Salmonella Enteritidis Outbreak
Our law firm is investigating Salmonella enteritidis infections in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas. We believe people in other states may have been sickened by eggs and would like to hear from them. The victims of this outbreak have all been sickened by a genetically identical strain of Salmonella enteritidis with PFGE pattern JEGXX01.0004.
Evidence points to Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms, both Iowa egg producers, as the source of some of these Salmonella enteritidis infections.
Egg Recall of over 300 Million Eggs by Wright County Egg
In response to the Salmonella enteritidis outbreak, on August 13 and August 18, 2010, Wright County Egg of Galt, Iowa, recalled shell eggs that it had shipped since May 19, 2010 to food wholesalers, distribution centers and foodservice companies in California, Arizona, Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Uta, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Iowa. These companies distribute nationwide.

Egg Recall Vicitm Compensation
If you have been diagnosed with Salmonella enteritidis after eating eggs produced by Wright County Egg or Hillandale Farms, contact us about getting money for pain and suffering and to cover your medical bills and lost income. To determine how much your case is worth, we look at the severity of your illness, the time spent in the hospital, your medical expenses, how much time you had to take off of work, and other factors.
Some people with salmonellosis (Salmonella infection) develop a kind of arthritis called Reiter's syndrome, and in rare cases the Salmonella infection can move to the blood and cause sepsis or septicemia. These can be life-long illnesses, and compensation should reflect that.
Victims have consumed the contaminated eggs at restaurants, events and at home. This means that possible liable parties (companies that would have to pay compensation to victims) include the following:
- Wright County Egg or Hillandale Farms
- Restaurants (several are involved)
- Retailers (depending on how the eggs were packaged and marketed)
