Goya Mamey Pulp Recall

Salmonella Hartford Outbreak Lawsuit
A total of 75 individuals infected with a matching strain of Salmonella Hartford have been reported from 15 states since April 1, 2010: Colorado CO (1), Georgia GA (1), Illinois IL (5), Indiana IN (11), Kentucky KY (23), Massachusetts MA (2), Michigan MI (3), Montana MT (1), North Carolina NC (1), NH (1), New York NY (1), Ohio OH (19), Pennsylvania PA (1), SC (1) and Wisconsin WI (4).

Baker Street Restaurant & Pub Salmonella Poisoning
Pritzker Olsen Law Firm is investigating a possible salmonella outbreak, reported by the Kenosha News. Kenosha County Health Department has closed the Baker Street Restaurant & Pub, on Green Bay Road, until the source of the salmonella poisoning can be determined. 10-18 people have been sickened, including patrons and employees.

Marie Callenders Lawsuit
Pritzker Olsen law firm is investigating the multistate Salmonella Chester outbreak linked to Marie Callender's Cheesy Chicken and Rice that has sickened at least 29 people in 14 states. There has been a Marie Callenders recall in association with this outbreak. Read ConAgra lawsuit information.

Subway Salmonellosis Lawsuit
The Illinois Department of Public Health and local health departments throughout the state are investigating the cause of Salmonella illnesses among customers who ate at certain Subway restaurants in Illinois. As of June 3, 2010, 34 cases of Salmonella have been confirmed with this outbreak and all are recovering, of which 14 had been hospitalized. Caldwell Foods Alfalfa Sprouts Lawsuit
On May 21, 2010, Caldwell Fresh Foods, of Maywood, California, recalled all alfalfa sprouts manufactured under the Caldwell Fresh Foods, Nature's Choice, and California Exotics brands, because the alfalfa sprouts may be contaminated with Salmonella. Caldwell alfalfa sprouts have been associated with an outbreak of Salmonella Newport that has sickened more than 20 people in 10 states, including 11 people in California.

MN Scout Potluck Salmonella Linked to Turkey Gravy
The Minnesota Department of Health recently investigated an outbreak of Salmonella that was linked to turkey gravy served at a scout troop potluck in Minnesota. The turkey gravy was prepared in a home with two pet bearded dragons. Of the 19 cases, 17 were primary cases and 2 were secondary cases (exposed to a primary case); 5 were stool culture-confirmed. Five had sought health care. Consuming turkey gravy at the potluck was the only food item statistically associated with illness.

Salami Salmonella Lawsuit
Daniele International Inc. manufactured the salami (salame) and recalled Daniele salami was distributed to the following: Costco, Fred Meyer, Fry’s Food and Drug, Haggen, Hilander, Kroger, Market Basket, Quality Food Center – Fresh Fare, Ralphs – Ralphs Fresh Fair, Sams Clubs, Scotts, Smiths – Smiths Marketplace, Stop and Shop, Top Food, Waldbaums, Walmart, Weis.

Daniele Salami Lawsuit
Daniele International Inc., a Rhode Island firm, recalled approximately 1,240,000 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) varieties of Italian sausage products, including salami/salame, because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Salmonella Montevideo
Pritzker Olsen law firm is investigating a Salmonella Montevideo outbreak.  184 people from 38 states have a matching strain of Salmonella Montevideo.

Beef Packers Lawsuit
Pritzker Olsen law firm is representing an Arizona client who contracted a Salmonella Newport infection linked to Cargill/Beef Packers ground beef that was recalled in August of 2009 (see below). Prompted by a second Salmonella Newport outbreak in Arizona, Beef Packers, Inc, issued a second recall of over 20,000 pounds of ground beef that was produced on September 23, 2009.

Cedar Groves Baptist Church Salmonella
Several People who purchased a meal at a fundraiser in Conway, South Carolina, on Nov. 13, 2009, have been sickened with gastroentestinal illness consistent with Salmonella poisoning (salmonellosis). At least 5 people were hospitalized.

Michigan Alfalfa Sprouts Salmonella Lawsuit
Michigan has 12 confirmed Salmonella Typhimurium cases linked to alfalfa sprouts.

Lettuce Salmonella Outbreak
Shredded lettuce has been associated with 124 cases of Salmonella. The Salmonella Typhimurium outbreak started in July of 2009 and peaked in August of 2009.

Cargill Recall - Beef Packers, Inc. Ground Beef
A Colorado outbreak of a drug-resistant strain of Salmonella Newport has been associated with ground beef processed by Beef Packers, Inc., owned by Cargill.  Read about the Cargill conection to Beef Packers and a Cargill lawsuit. Memphis, Tennessee Salmonella Lawsuit

Alfalfa Sprouts Salmonella
The CDC and FDA are advising consumers not to eat raw alfalfa sprouts because they may be contaminated with Salmonella Saintpaul. State and local authorities, CDC, and FDA have linked a multistate outbreak to eating alfalfa sprouts.

Cruise Ship Salmonella Oranienburg
We are representing a 55-year-old Minnesota man who became sick on a cruise ship in the Caribbean and almost died from a rare form of Salmonella. At least one other Minnesotan was sickened on the cruise ship. Salmonella cases in other states may also be part of this outbreak.

Sprouts Salmonella Outbreak
A Salmonella Saintpaul outbreak associated with SunSprout Enterprises Sprouts has sickened people in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota and Missouri. We are representing victims of this outbreak.

Salmonella in Pistachios
Several illnesses have been reported by pistachio consumers that may be related to pistachios distributed by Setton Pitschacio of Terra Bella, California. FDA is conducting tests to look for matches between the strains of Salmonella found in the company's pistachios and strains of the bacteria found in ill people. Salmonella Linked to Union International Food Co. and Uncle Chen White Pepper
A Salmonella outbreak linked to a spice company has sickened 42 people, including 33 in California. Eight of the 42 have been hospitalized. The spice company, Union International Food Co., has recalled its white and black pepper, paprika, onion power, curry powder, mustard powder, wasabi powder, garlic and chopped onion. Salmonella Wrongful Death Lawsuit: Pritzker Law Firm Represents Family
72-year-old Shirley Mae Almer of Minnesota was the first reported death in the Salmonella outbreak linked to King Nut peanut butter (see below). On behalf of her heirs, attorney Fred Pritzker has started the process of a lawsuit against King Nut Companies and Peanut Corporation of America.

Salmonella Typhimurium Outbreak
Minnesota and federal officials have genetically linked King Nut Peanut Butter to the multi-state Salmonella Typhimurium outbreak, which has sickened over 600 people in over 40 states. Several people have become seriously ill. Five deaths may be associated with the outbreak. Amarillo, Texas IHOP Salmonella Outbreak
According to the Amarillo Department of Public Health, at least 10 people have contracted Salmonella infections after eating at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) in Amarillo, Texas.

CDC Salmonella Saintpaul Investigation
CDC is collaborating with public health officials in several states, the Indian Health Service, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate an ongoing multistate outbreak of human Salmonella serotype Saintpaul infections. Read about the CDC Salmonella Saintpaul Investigation.

FDA Warning Regarding Tomatoes
The Food and Drug Administration is alerting consumers in New Mexico and Texas that a salmonellosis outbreak appears to be linked to consumption of certain types of raw red tomatoes and products containing raw red tomatoes. Read the FDA Warning.

Texas Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Tomatoes
Texas health officials have confirmed 21 cases in Texas since mid-April, including cases in Harris, Fort Bend, Dallas, Tarrant, Hays and Cameron counties. [Update: 265 confirmed Salmonella Saintpaul cases in Texas.] Consumption of raw tomatoes has been implicated as the likely source of infections. New Mexico Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Tomatoes
The New Mexico Department of Health has announced that an outbreak of Salmonella is likely caused by eating uncooked tomatoes. So far, 31 people from seven counties in New Mexico have been sick with a strain of Salmonella called Salmonella Saintpaul. Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat Recall
21 people in 13 states have laboratory-confirmed cases of Salmonella linked to a Malt-O-Meal Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat recall due to possible Salmonella contamination.  The Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat recall involves unsweetened Puffed Rice and unsweetened Puffed Wheat Cereals produced with “Best If Used By” codes between April 8, 2008 (coded as “APR0808”) and March 18, 2009 (coded as “MAR1809”). Minnesota Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Frozen Chicken
Minnesota health and agriculture officials have two recent cases of salmonellosis (specifically Salmonella Enteritidis infection) in Minnesota have been linked to raw, frozen, breaded and pre-browned, stuffed chicken entrees. The implicated product is Milford Valley Farms Chicken Cordon Bleu with a stamped code of C8021. This product is sold at many different grocery store chains. Salmonella: Agropecuaria Montelibano Cantaloupe
March 22, 2008 - The FDA has issued an import alert regarding entry of cantaloupe from Agropecuaria Montelibano, a Honduran grower and packer, because, based on current information, fruit from this company appears to be associated with a Salmonella Litchfield outbreak in the United States and Canada. Salmonella: Flying Tortilla Restaurant
According to New Mexico health officials, 4 people have been sickened in a Salmonella outbreak associated with the Flying Tortilla, a Santa Fe, New Mexico restaurant.  The four people ate at the Flying Tortilla in Santa Fe from mid-January to mid-February, 2008. Salmonella Outbreak and Tuna Recall
Cases of Salmonella in Hawaii have prompted Choyce Products of Honolulu, Hawaii to recall 5,452 pounds of frozen Yellowfin Tuna. The FDA and the state of Hawaii are conducting a joint investigation of a variety of vendors due to the state receiving Salmonella illness reports between October 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007. Safeway Ground Beef Salmonella Outbreak
We are investigating a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Newport  infections associated with Safeway ground beef. At least 38 people have been sickened in Arizona, California, Utah and Nevada.  In response to this outbreak USDA-FSIS has issued a public health warning in lieu of having Safeway initiate a voluntary Safeway ground beef recall. Taste of Chcago Salmonella Outbreak
Pritzker | Olsen, P.A. is monitoring a Salmonella outbreak that has been linked to the Pars Cove Persian Cuisine booth at the Taste of Chicago.  According to health officials, 126 people have reported being sickened after eating at the Pars Cove booth.  Salmonella poisoning is the likely cause.  Learn more about the Taste of Chicago Salmonella outbreak.

Samonella Outbreak Linked to Veggie Booty Snack Food

Salmonella Recall and Outbreak: Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Great Value Peanut Butter

Salmonella Newport Outbreak Linked to Tomatoes
November 28, 2006 – Health officials are investigating a second Salmonella outbreak linked to tomatoes.  This Salmonella outbreak has sickened nearly 100 people in 19 states.  According to health officials, it began in June and ended October 20, 2006.  The strain of Salmonella involved in this outbreak was Salmonella Newport.  Learn more about the Salmonella Newport outbreak linked to tomatoes.

Salmonella Typhimurium Outbreak Linked to Tomatoes
November 3, 2006 – State and federal health investigators have linked the recent Salmonella typhimurium outbreak to tomatoes served in restaurants.  To date, 21 states have reported 183 cases of illnesses to the CDC.  Learn more about the Salmonella Typhimurium outbreak linked to tomatoes.

Minnesota Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Tomatoes
November 3, 2006 – Minnesota has at least 14 cases of Salmonella poisoning (salmonellosis) that have been linked to tomatoes served in restaurants.  5 of the Minnesota cases are most likely linked to the same fast food restaurant.  Read more about the Minnesota Salmonella outbreak linked to tomatoes.

Detroit Food Poisoning: Roostertail Banquet Facility
Michigan health officials are investigating a food poisoning outbreak in Detroit that sickened at least 30 people who ate at Detroit’s Roostertail banquet facility.  Investigators are looking at the food served at the banquet to determine if this outbreak is part of the nationwide Salmonella outbreak that has sickened at least 172 people in 19 states.  Learn more about the Detriot, Michigan, food poisoning outbreak.

Salmonella Outbreak: Tomatoes
The CDC has identified an outbreak of Salmonella infections and suspects the source is fresh produce, possibly tomatoes.  The Salmonella outbreak has sickened at least 172 people.  Of those, 11 have been hospitalized.  Read more about the Salmonella outbreak that may be associated with tomatoes.

Salmonella Outbreak: Margaritas in Canton, Connecticut
State and local health officials are investigating a possible outbreak of Salmonella associated with Margaritas, a Canton, Connecticut, restaurant.  Ten people who ate at Margaritas between Sept. 21-27 have tested positive for Salmonella poisoning, called salmonellosis.  All ten people were infected by the same strain of Salmonella bacteria.  Learn more about the Salmonella outbreak linked to Margaritas restaurant in Canton, Connecticut.

Minnesota Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Frozen Chicken Entrees
Health officials have linked two recent Minnesota salmonellosis outbreaks to frozen, single-serving, chicken entrees.  These products have been sold under various labels and are characterized as pre-browned, microwavable, and stuffed or filled. One Minnesota outbreak has sickened 26 people; the other, 3 people. At least 34 people from other states have also fallen ill. Salmonella Outbreak at Café Barbette
At least 40 people who ate at Café Barbette located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, have been sickened by the Salmonella bacteria, a foodborne pathogen that causes severe flu-like symptoms.  Infection with Salmonella bacteria can lead to severe dehydration. Food Source Found for Corky & Lenny's Salmonella Outbreak
(Updated information) The February 2006 Salmonella outbreak in Lansing, Michigan, has been linked to a liver sandwich served at an area restaurant Corky & Lenny's.  The oil used to roll matzo balls and moisten the liver before serving also tested positive for Salmonella. As of May 5, 2006, there were 48 confirmed cases of Salmonella poisoning and 64 probable cases.  Read more about the Salmonella outbreak linked to Corky & Lenny's.

Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Sushi King Restaurant
February 24, 2006–A Salmonella outbreak in Bentonville, Arkansas, is linked to the Sushi King Restaurant. At least 89 people have become ill after eating at the Sushi King during the first two weeks of February. Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Corky and Lenny's
February 23, 2006–According to Cuyahoga County health officials, there have been 71 reports of people becoming ill after eating at Corky & Lenny's, a Woodmere, Ohio, restaurant. 23 cases of Salmonella have been confirmed, and 20 people have been hospitalized.
