Bayside Furnishings Bed Recall
Bayside Furnishings has recalled about 9,350
LaJolla Boat Bed and Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Beds. The lid supports on the toy chests fail to prevent the lid from closing too quickly, posing an entrapment and strangulation hazard to young children. At least one child has died.
Honda Lawn Mower Recall
American Honda Motor Corp. has recalled about 20,500 Honda lawn mowers. The lawn mower’s rear shield can break off allowing debris to be thrown toward the operator, which poses a laceration hazard to consumers.
Honda Rancher ATV Recall
American Honda Motor Corporation has recalled about 42,000 Honda Rancher ATVs. If the ATV’s rubber CV (constant velocity) boots get punctured or torn the joint will become contaminated and severe binding of the CV joints could occur, resulting in the sudden loss of steering control. This poses a risk of injury or death to riders.
Kawasaki ATV Recall
Kawasaki Motors Corp. has recalled about 6,000 2008 Model Year KFX 50 and KFX 90 Youth ATVs. The throttle can fail to return to the idle position when released or could fail to be at idle on start-up. Stanley Crib Recall
Stanley Furniture Company has recalled about 1,200 2nd Nature Built to Grow Cribs. The cribs could fail to meet a federal safety standard for crib dimensions. When the mattress support is in the middle setting, the space between the mattress and the crib could be too wide, posing an entrapment hazard to infants. Read about the Stanley crib recall.
KYMCO Mongoose Youth ATV Recall
KYMCO USA has recalled about 1,700 2008 Model Year Mongoose Youth ATVs. A manufacturing defect in the carburetor can cause the throttle to stick open, posing a risk of serious injury or death to the rider. Read about the KYMCO Mongoose ATV recall.
Arctic Cat ATV Recall
Arctic Cat has recalled about 6,000 youth model Arctic Cat ATVs: Model Year 2008 Arctic Cat 50cc and 90cc All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). Read about the Arctic Cat ATV recall.
Jardine Crib Recall
Jardine Enterprises has recalled about 320,000 Jardine cribs. The wooden crib slats and spindles can break, creating a gap, which can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard to infants. Read about the Jardine Crib recall.
Wal-Mart Charm Key Chain Recall
Wal-Mart has recalled certain key chains because the charms contain an excessive amount of lead. The Illinois Attorney General informed Wal-Mart and CPSC on April 16, 2008, that the key chain was found in the home of a 9-month-old child who was discovered to have high blood-levels of lead. CPSC Pool and Spa Injury and Death Study
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has released a study of pool and spa submersion-related injuries and deaths for children younger than 5 years old. There were, on average, 2,700 pool and spa related emergency department-treated submersion injuries each year for 2005 – 2007 and 283 pool and spa (spas, hot tubs, and whirlpools) related fatalities per year for 2003 – 2005 for children younger than five years of age. Weil-McLain Gas Boiler Recall
On May 6, 2008 Weil-McLain, of Michigan City, Indiana, recalled about 32,000 Weil-McLain CGs and CGi Gas Boilers. The company also recalled about 1,800 Williamson-Thermoflo gas boilers. Read about the Weil-McLain gas boiler recall and the Williamson-Thermoflo gas boiler.
Wal-Mart Charm Key Chain Recall
Wal-Mart has recalled certain key chains because the charms contain an excessive amount of lead. The Illinois Attorney General informed Wal-Mart and CPSC on April 16, 2008, that the key chain was found in the home of a 9-month-old child who was discovered to have high blood-levels of lead. Polaris Outlaw Recall
The CPSC has announced a Polaris Outlaw recall—about 11,300 Polaris Outlaws, certain model year 2006-2008. According to Polaris Industries Inc. of Minnesota, a retention bolt can come loose causing the rear wheels to lock up, which poses a risk of serious injury to the rider. Honda TRX 500 ATV Recall
Honda has recalled about 40,000 Model Year 2007 Honda TRX 500 ATVs. Water can enter the throttle position sensor and freeze, causing permanent damage if the rider forces the throttle lever. KYMCO ATV Recall
KYMCO has recalled about 1,350 2006-2008 Model Year MXU 500 All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). The pivot bolts holding the rear suspension onto the frame can become loose, causing the rear swing arm to detach from the chassis posing a risk of injury or death to the operator. Aqua Dots Recall
A chemical coating on Aqua Dots converts to a powerful “date rape” drug when ingested. After swallowing Aqua Dots, 2 children in the United States were hospitalized. We are accepting cases involving injury from Aqua Dots. Read more about an Aqua Dots lawsuit.
Simplicity Crib Recall
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has annouced the recall of over a million Simplicity cribs. The CPSC is aware of 3 deaths, seven infant entrapments, and 55 other incidents that may be associated with the cribs. Learn more about the Simplicity crib recall.
REI Children's Trailer Bike Recall
Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) has recalled Novara Afterburner Trailer Bicycles sold at REI stores. The children’s trailer bicycle can detach from the adult bicycle, posing a fall hazard to children. Learn more about the REI children's trailer bicycle recall.
Injury Prompts Sherwin-Williams to Recall Thermo-Tec Coating
Serious facial injuries resulting from the explosion of a Sherwin-Williams aerosol can prompted the recall of About 3,000 cans of Thermo-Tec Hi-Heat aerosol coating used to color and protect Thermo-Tec automotive exhaust wrap. Learn more about the Sherwin-Williams recall of Thermo-Tec coating.
Ol' Man Treestand Recall
CPSC has announced the recall of about 9000 Ol’ Man treestands. Locking pins in the treestands can unexpectedly fall out, posing a fall hazard. Injury Prompts Mag Stix Recall
July 5, 2007 - The hospitalization of an 8-year-old girl has prompted the recall of about 800 Mag Stix magnetic building sets. Small magnets inside the plastic sticks can fall out. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforation or blockage, which can be fatal. Learn more about the Mag Stix recall and possible lawsuit.
Thermador Oven Recall
June 29, 2007 - About 42,000 Thermador® Brand Built-In Ovens have been recalled. The oven can have gaps in the insulation where overheating can occur and when used in the self-cleaning mode it can cause nearby cabinets to overheat. This can pose a fire hazard to consumers. Lasko Ceramic Heater Recall
June 28, 2007 - About 1.2 million Lasko ceramic heaters have been recalled due to the risk of fire. The heater’s cord can overheat where it enters the base of the unit, which could pose a fire hazard to consumers. Lasko has received 28 reports of failed power cords, including six reports of minor property damage. Learn more about the Lasko heater recall.
Polaris Outlaw ATV Recall
June 20, 2007 - Polaris International has recalled about 930 Polaris Outlaw ATVs. The recalled ATVs may have a loose fuel valve within the fuel tank, which could cause a fuel leak and pose a fire hazard to riders. Learn more about the Polaris Outlaw ATV recall.
Asko Dishwasher Recall
June 14, 2007 - The CPSC in cooperation with Asko Cylinda AB, today announced a voluntary recall of about 130,000 Asko dishwashers. An electrical component in the dishwasher can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. The firm has received 21 reports of dishwasher fires. Learn more about the Asko dishwasher recall.
General Electric Gas Stove Recall
General Electric has recalled about 2,600 GE Monogram® Professional Gas Ranges. These General Electric (GE) gas stoves have a design flaw that can cause an electrical arc between the wiring and griddle gas supply tube, posing a fire hazard. Consumers have been injured. Cannondale Mountain Bike Recall
June 13, 2007 - Cannondale Bicycle Corp. has recalled about 6,700 Cannondale mountain bikes with Lefty Speed SL and Lefty Speed DLR Forks. CPSC Warns Consumers about the Meerkat 50 ATV
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers about the Kazuma Meerkat 50 ATV because the CPSC has determined that it is defective and dangerous. This ATV is marketed to children ages 6 to 11. Learn more about the Meerkat 50 ATV.
Polaris Hawkeye ATV Recall
May 30, 2007 - Polaris Industries in cooperation with the CPSC has issued two recalls involving Polaris Hawkeye ATVs. One recall involves about 9,400 Polaris Hawkeye ATVs that may have defective front bearing carriers, and the other recall involves about 8,800 Polaris Hawkeye ATVs that may have defective steering posts. Magnetix Recall Expansion

SRAM Force Bike Brake Caliper Recall
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of about 5,400 SRAM Force road brake caliper sets. SlingRider Infant Carrier Recall
March 22, 2007 - Infantino LLC has recalled about 100,000 SlingRider infant carriers. The plastic slider on the fabric strap can break. This can cause the strap supporting the carrier to release and infants to fall out of the carrier. Learn more about the SlingRider baby carrier recall.
Digital Security Smoke Alarm Recall
March 22, 2007 - Digital Security Controls has recalled about 32,000 Digital Security Controls FSA and FSB series smoke detectors. These smoke detectors could fail to reliably detect smoke during a fire. Learn more about the Digital Security smoke alarm recall.
Home Decorators Wall Sconce Recall
March 21, 2007 - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Home Decorators Collection has announced a voluntary recall of about 900 wall sconces. A missing back plate exposes consumers to live wires, posing a risk of electrical shock to consumers changing the light bulb. Learn more about the wall sconce recall.
Suzuki QuadSport ATV Recall
Suzuki Motor Corp. has recalled about 3,500 Suzuki QuadSport ATVs. The bushing pivot mount boss on the left and right suspension arm may not have been welded completely and could break off during riding. Carbon Monoxide Poisoning: Laars Boilers and Water Heaters
Laars heating systems has recalled about 2,100 boilers and water heaters. Internal black plastic venting components in the gas boilers and water heaters can crack and leak flue gases, including carbon monoxide (CO), posing a risk of CO poisoning. Fire Hazard: Extension Cord Recall

Fisher-Price Fined $975,000
March 1, 2007 – Fisher-Price Inc., of East Aurora, N.Y., has agreed to pay a $975,000 civil penalty for failing to report to the government that a nail fastener in the Little People® Animal Sounds Farm can separate from the toy and pose a serious choking or aspiration hazard to young children. Power Vent Water Heater Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Risk
February 21, 2007 - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of certain Power Vent tankless water heaters. Components inside the water heater may shift during transit, causing an air filter door switch to operate improperly. If the switch fails and the air filter door is out of place, the water heater could continue to operate and dust and lint could build up, posing a carbon monoxide poisoning hazard. Zoeller Septic Pump Due to Shock Hazard
February 14, 2007 - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Zoeller Pump Co., has announced a voluntary recall of about 2,300 Zoeller septic pumps. Maytag and Jenn-Air Dishwasher Recall
February 1, 2007 - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Maytag Corp., has announced a voluntary recall of about 2.3 million Maytag and Jenn-Air dishwashers. Liquid rinse-aid can leak from the dishwasher's dispenser and come into contact with the dishwasher’s internal wiring, which can short-circuit and ignite, posing a fire hazard. Boiler Recall Due to Scald Hazard

Honda ATV Recall
January 31, 2007 – American Honda Motor Corp. Inc., in cooperation with the CPSC, has recalled about 11,000 Honda model year 2006 ATVs. Ball joint separation could occur resulting in loss of control of the ATV. Learn more about the Honda ATV recall.
Holmes Oscillating Tower Fan
January 24, 2007 - CPSC and the Holmes Group have announced a voluntary recall of about 300,000 Holmes oscillating tower fans. Electrical arcing in the fan’s wiring can cause a fire hazard. Weil-McLain Boiler
January 22, 2007 – Weil-McLain Co. in cooperation with the CPSC has recalled about 171 Weil-McLain boilers. The boiler assembly is not properly sealed. Water Cooler Recall
January 22, 2007 - DC Waters or America in cooperation with the CPSC has recalled about 8,700 water coolers that pose a fire hazard. General Duty Safety Switches
December 15, 2006 - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Square D Company, announce a voluntary recall of about 27,600 general duty safety switches. Polly Pocket Magnet Hazard

Wal-Mart Footstool Recall

Bike Pedal Recall
October 25, 2006 – The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 18,000 Time Sport RXS bike pedals, which may pose a fall hazard for riders. Delta Bathtub and Shower Head Valves
October 25, 2006 – The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 105,000 Delta bathtub and shower head valves which may cause scald injuries. Kawasaki Model Year 2007 Bayou 250 ATV
October 19, 2006 – The Kawasaki Motors Corp. in cooperation with the CPSC recalled 291 Kawasaki 2007 Model Year Bayou 250 All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). The nuts securing the tie-rod ends to the steering shaft of this model of Kawasaki ATV may not have been tightened sufficiently during assembly. Petzl Ball-Lock Carabiners
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Am’D Ball-Lock Carabiners and William Ball-Lock Carabiners manufactured by Petzl America. These carabiners have a green button that acts as a safety mechanism to prevent unlocking. The recalled carabiners can unlock unexpectedly without pressing the green button, posing a fall hazard. Kawasaki MULE Utility Vehicles Recall
Due to possible loss of steering, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., of Irvine, California, in cooperation with the CPSC, has recalled certain models of the Kawasaki MULE vehicle. Learn more about the Kawasaki MULE recall.
Playskool Team Talkin' Tool Bench Toy Recall
A 19-month-old boy from Martinsburg, West Virginia, and a 2-year-old boy from League City, Texas, suffocated when oversized, plastic toy nails sold with the Playskool Team Talkin' Tool Bench toys became forcefully lodged in their throats. John Deere Lawn Tractor Recall
On August 29, 2006, the CPSC announced the recall of about 16,000 John Deere lawn tractors (X300 Select Series). A problem in the manufacturing process could cause damage to the circuit in the interlock module. If the interlock module fails, the mower blades will be able to run with no operator on the tractor seat. Consumers could suffer injuries from contact with operating blades. Speed Buckle Harness Used for Mountain and Rock Climbing
On August 16, 2006, the CPSC announced the recall of Speed Buckle Harnesses used during mountain and rock climbing. The harness could be threaded incorrectly. If threaded incorrectly, the webbing will easily slip when loaded. Incorrectly threaded buckles can loosen, which could cause climbers to slip out of the harness and fall. Tu-Wire® Ballasts: Shock Hazard
On August 16, 2006, the CPSC announced the recall of Tu-Wire® ballasts used with dimmable compact fluorescent lights. These ballasts, if not properly grounded in accordance with the National Electrical Code, can present a risk of electric shock to persons who come in contact with the ballast or with a light fixture that incorporates the ballast, such as when a consumer changes a fluorescent lamp bulb. Extension Cord Recall: Shock Hazard
On August 10, 2006, the CPSC announced the recall of extension cords because users may get shocked. The counterfeit extension cords could have undersized wire and substandard insulation, which can cause overheating, resulting in a possible shock hazard. Learn more about the extension cord recall.
Suzuki 2006 Eiger ATV Recall
The CPSC has announced the recall of about 300 Suzuki 2006 Eiger ATVs. The mounting brackets used to secure the left-front suspension arm to the ATV frame may not have been welded completely and could break off during riding. Outfitter and Fred Bear Compound Crossbow Recall
On July 14, 2006, CPSC announced a recall of about 2000 Outfitter and Fred Bear compound crossbows manufactured by Bear Archery of Gainesville, Florida. According to the CPSC announcement, the triggers on these Outfitter and Fred Bear compound crossbows could fire when the safety mechanism is moved from “safe” to “fire” position without pulling the trigger. Sportsstuff Wego Kite Tube Recall
On July 13, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced the recall of about 19,000 Sportsstuff Wego Kite Tubes. CPSC staff are aware of 39 injury incidents with 29 of those resulting in medical treatment. Ryobi Radial Arm Saw Recall
On July 13, 2006, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of about 145,000 Ryobi radial arm saws. According to the CPSC announcement, racking of the plastic motor housing can cause the blade assembly to fall during operation, posing a risk of laceration to the operator or bystanders. Porter-Cable Cordless Brad Nailer Safety Alert
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced that one model of the Porter-Cable cordless brad nailer has a serious product defect. The Porter-Cable cordless brad nailer can eject a nail while the switch is in the “off” position. Porter-Cable, of Jackson, Tennessee, has received 2 reports of injuries, including puncture wounds to the leg and back requiring surgical removal of the nail. Bicycle Recall
On June 22, 2006, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 2,700 bicycles. The bicycles were recalled because the faceplates holding the handlebars on the bicycle can crack and cause the handlebar to break off, posing a serious fall hazard. Suzuki ATV Recall
On June 21, 2006, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a Suzuki ATV recall involving about 6,300 Suzuki 2006 model year QuadRacer ATVs. The cushion lever mounting bracket on the ATV frame can break. If this occurs the rider could lose control of the ATV and crash, posing a risk of serious injury or death. Full-Body Safety Harness Recall
On June 8, 2006, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Summit Treestands LLC, of Decatur, Alabama, announced the recall of about 106,000 safety harnesses sold with hunting tree stands. The safety harness sold with the tree stand could fail during use, resulting in consumers falling fro the tree stand and suffering serious injuries or death. Black & Decker® Coffeemaker Recall
On June 6, 2006, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall of about 420,000 Black & Decker® Brand Thermal Coffeemakers. The coffeemaker may not turn off as programmed, causing the unit to overheat and melt, and posing a risk of fire and burn injury. Nexgrill Gas Grill Recall
On June 1, 2006, the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 16,000 Nexgrill gas grills manufactured by Nexgrill Industries Inc., of City of Industry, California. According to the CPSC announcement, Nexgrill has received 31 incident reports, including 28 fires, three hoses melting, two cases of property damage, and four injuries. Pacifier Recall: “Baby 2 Pack” Pacifiers Recalled for Choking Hazard
May 25, 2006 – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Kole Imports of Carson, California (KI) announced the recall of about 3,600 packages of “Baby 2 Pack” pacifiers. Tyco Smoke Detector Recall and Tyco Fire Detection System Recall
On May 19, 2006, Tyco Fire and Security of Boca Raton, Florida, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), initiated a smoke detector recall involving about 128,000 units and a fire detection system recall involving about 21,000 units. Ameristep Hunting Tree Stand Recalled for Collapse Hazard
On May 18, 2006, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 6,700 Ameristep Patriot and Outfitter Hang-on Tree Stands. The j-hook attachment of the tree strap can fail, which can cause the tree stand to collapse. Consumers using these stands could fall and suffer serious injuries or death. Rainbow Play Systems Swing Seat Recall
May 18, 2006 – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Rainbow Play Systems Inc., of Brookings, South Dakota, announced a voluntary recall of about 18,400 sling swing set seats that sold as an accessory with Carnival, Sunshine, and Rainbow Series residential play structures manufactured by Rainbow Play Systems, Inc. Adventure Playsets Swing Set Recall
On May 11, 2006, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall of wooden swing sets distributed by Adventure Playsets, dba Backyard Ventures Inc., of Amarillo, Texas. The Adventure Playsets wooden swing sets have defective bolts that could cause the swing set frame to detach from the fort structure, posing a fall hazard to a child or other user. Liz Claiborne Jewelry Recalled Due to Risk of Lead Poisoning
On May 10, 2006, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of Juicy Couture Children’s Jewelry manufactured by Liz Claiborne Inc., of North Bergen, New Jersey. The recalled jewelry contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause serious, adverse health effects. Lead poisoning can be fatal. Recall of Schwinn Bicycle Child Carriers Due to Risk of Falling
On May 9, 2006, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 14,000 Schwinn bicyle child carriers. The carrier is a seat for a child that is attached to the back of an adult bicycle. The manufacturer has received five reports of the bicycle child carriers falling. Recall of Metal Charm Sold with Shirley Temple DVDs
On May 5, 2006, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled metal charms Sold with Twentieth Century Fox Shirley Temple DVDs because they could cause lead poisoning. Daisy Slingshots Recalled Due to Risk of Serious Eye Injury
May 4, 2006 – The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Daisy Manufacturing Co. have announced the recall of about 104,500 Daisy slingshots named “The Natural.” If the slingshot band slips out of its frame during use, the ball at the end of the tubing can strike the user, resulting in serious facial injuries. Daisy has received at least three reports of injuries: a 12-year-old boy who was blinded in one eye; a 16-year-old boy who has decreased vision; and an 11-year old boy who has three broken teeth. Recall of Mountain Climbing Camming Anchor
On April 18, 2006, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 4,100 mountain climbing camming anchors manufactured by Colorado Custom Hardware (CCH) Inc., of Laramie, Wyoming. Serious Injuries Prompt Recall of Mini-Trampoline
April 6, 2006 – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Stamina Products, Inc., of Springfield, Missouri, announced a recall of about 668,000 InMotion Trampolines. If a person assembles the trampoline alone and the outside rail is released momentarily, the trampoline can snap back into the folded position and strike the consumer, posing a risk of serious injury. Death Prompts Recall of Magnetix Magnet Building Sets
March 31, 2006 – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 3.8 million Rose Art Magnetix magnetic building sets. Tiny magnets inside the plastic building pieces and rods can fall out. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. A 20-month-old boy died after he swallowed magnets that twisted his small intestine and created a blockage. 4 other children have been seriously injured. Recalled Toys Pose Choking Hazard
March 30, 2006—The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recently recalled 2 toys: 1) Primary Sounds Toy Vehicles and 2) "Busy Baby Activity Tool Pliers" sold at RadioShack. Reebok Charm Bracelets Recalled after Minnesota Child Dies
March 23, 2006—The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled about 300,000 Reebok Heart-Shaped Charm Bracelets due to high levels of lead, which poses a risk of lead poisoning and adverse health effects to young children. Reebok has received a report of a death caused by lead poisoning of a 4-year-old child from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The child reportedly swallowed a piece from one of the recalled Reebok bracelets. Turbo Sport Portable Gas Grill
February 23, 2006–The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Barbeques Galore Inc., of Lake Forest, California, announced the recall of about 1,800 Turbo Sport Portable Infrared LP Gas Grills. The grills have faulty regulators that can release too much gas to the burner causing an excessive burner flame. This also poses a risk of gas leaks, fires and explosions if an ignition source is present. There have been 18 reports of excessive flame or the regulator shutting off. Aspen 3 in 1 Crib with Graco Logo
February 8, 2006–After the death of a 19-month baby in Myrtle Creek, Ore., the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Simplicity Inc., of Reading Pa., are renewing the search for recalled Aspen 3 in 1 Cribs with Graco logos. The child died on January 6, 2006, after two of the mattress support slats came out of his recalled crib. He became entrapped between the mattress and the footboard of the crib and suffocated. Oscillating Heaters Sold at Wal-Mart
January 26, 2006–In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), King of Fans Inc., of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is voluntarily recalling about 75,000 Maxi-Heat™ Dream Tower Heaters. The wires inside the oscillating heater can short circuit and spark, posing a fire hazard to consumers. This product has allegedly caused one house fire. Fisher-Price Infant Musical Toy Chair
January 18, 2006–The CPSC and Fisher-Price announced a voluntary recall of about 614,000 Fisher-Price® Laugh & Learn™ Musical Learning Chairs.™ A child can become lodged between the seatback and side table of the chair, possibly leading to an entrapment of the neck. This can pose a strangulation hazard to young children. To date, Fisher-Price has received three reports of young children getting their necks lodged between the seatback and the side table of the toy, including one report of a child receiving a welt on the neck. Ski-Doo Snowmobiles Recalled
January 5, 2006—The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. announced the recall of the following snowmobile models:
- 1,800 Model Year 2006 Ski-Doo REV500 SS, REV 600 HO, and REV 600 HO SDI Snowmobiles and
- 10,400 Model Year 2006 Ski-Doo REV, RT, and RF Snowmobiles.

Children’s Bicycles
December 22, 2005—The CPSC and Recreational Equipment Inc., of Kent, Washington, announced the recall of about 2,800 children’s bicycles sold as Novara Dirt Rider bicycles. The frame of the bicycles can be prone to fatigue failure. Frame failure results in the separation of the fork, head tube, and handlebar away from the rest of the bike causing a loss of control and crash, posing a risk of serious injury to the rider. Recreational Equipment Inc. has received 4 reports of frames failing, all resulting in crashes.
Graco™ Aspen Cribs Recalled for Suffocation Risk
December 21, 2005—The CPSC and Simplicity Inc., of Reading, Pennsylvania, announced the recall of about 104,000 Aspen 3 in 1 Cribs, sold under the Graco Trademark. The screws on the wooden mattress support can come loose, allowing a portion of the mattress to fall, posing a suffocation hazard to young children. Simplicity has received 14 reports of the mattress support coming loose, including 8 reports of entrapment. 5 injuries have been reported, including a report of a child turning blue.
Gas Grills
December 20, 2005—The CPSC and Meco Corp., of Greenville, Tennessee, announced the recall of about 98,000 Aussie™ Gas Grills. Propane gas could possibly leak when the propane cylinder is connected and open, and the grill is not in use. This poses a risk of fire and burn injuries. There have been 10 reports of gas leaks. There has been one report of a fire causing property damage.
Legacy Propane Infrared Plaque Heaters
December 20, 2005—The CPSC and CFM Corporation announced the recall of about 10,200 Legacy Infrared Plaque Heaters. A gasket in the product could allow carbon monoxide emissions to leak out. Consumers should stop using the product immediately due to this possible carbon monoxide hazard.
Dell Notebook Computer Batteries
December 16, 2005—The CPSC and Dell Inc. of Round Rock, Texas, announced the recall of about 22,000 Dell notebook computer batteries. The batteries can overheat, which could pose a fire risk. Dell has received 3 reports of batteries overheating.
Recall of GE Gas Ranges Posing Fire Hazard
December 15, 2005—The CPSC and General Electric (GE) announced a recall of GE Gas Ranges, specifically GE Monogram® 36-inch and 48-inch Professional Gas Ranges. A design flaw could cause an electric arc between the wiring and adjacent gas supply tubes, posing a fire hazard. 6 incidents of fire have been reported. Recall of Doorway Baby Jumpers
December 13, 2005--The CPSC and Kids II Inc. of Alpharetta, Georgia, have recalled 14,000 Bounce Bounce Baby! Door Jumpers. The plastic clamp that attaches the jumper seat to a door frame can break, which can cause the jumper and the child to fall to the floor. 9 injuries have been reported.
Chuck E. Cheese Plastic Siren Whistles
December 8, 2005--The CPSC and Chuck E. Cheese's of Irving, Texas, have recalled about 144,000 plastic siren whistles. The whistle's internal pieces can detach from the toy, posing a choking hazard to children.
Kawasaki All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs)
December 8, 2005--The CPSC and Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., of Irvine, California, have recalled about 21,900 Kawasaki 2005 model year Brute Force ATVs. Tie rod separation caused by either wear or severe impact can occur during operation, causing the front wheel to separate from the steering control. Recall of Industrial Ladders
November 23, 2005--The CPSC and Louisville Ladder Inc., of Louisville, Kentucky, have recalled about 3000 industrial ladders. The rung on the ladders could bread near the side rail causing the user to fall. There have been 2 reports of rungs breaking. Read about workplace injuries and construction accidents.
Recall of Toys Due to Choking Hazard
November 22, 2005 - The CPSC has issued recalls on the following toys:
- Toy Activity Sets. In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Wal-Mart Stores Inc., of Bentonville, Ark., is voluntarily recalling about 7,200 10-in-1 Activity Trunks by Kid Connection. Some of the toys in these trunks contain small parts, posing a choking hazard to young children.
- Toy Vehicles. In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), International Playthings Inc., of Parsippany, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 6,000 Flexitoys Monster-Size Vehicles. Small parts can detach, which pose a choking hazard to young children.
- Toy Cars. In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), International Playthings Inc., of Parsippany, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 1,900 Viking Chubbies Toy Cars. The heads on the figures sold with the cars can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Recall of Vaporizers and Aromatherapy Diffusers
November 17, 2005 - The CPSC is recalling Vapor-Eze Waterless Vaporizers and Vapor-Eze Aromatherapy Diffusers. 6 fires have been reported. One young child has been hospitalized for burn injuries on the face and hands. Read information on fire and burn injuries.
Recall of Suzuki ATVs
November 17, 2005 - In cooperation with the CPSC, American Suzuki Motor Corp., Montgomery Motors Ltd., and Suzuki Del Caribe, Inc., are voluntarily recalling about 19,600 Suzuki 2005 model year LT-A700XK5 King Quad ATVs.
