Woman Dies From Injuries Sustained in Falls, PA House Fire

A woman has died from injuries she sustained in a Falls Township, PA  house fire on January, 20. She suffered third-degree burns on the lower half of her body after a fire broke out at her home in the 20 block of Echo Lane in the Elderberry section of Levittown.

Neighbors said they saw the woman near a lawn mower and both were on fire.  She was airlifted to Temple University Hospital where she received treatment for severe burns for several days before succumbing to her injuries. Fire officials are still investigating the source of the fire.

House fires are responsible for thousands of injuries and deaths in the U.S. each year, according to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). In 2015, the most recent year that data is available, 15,700 injuries and 3,280 were reported.
