Alan Remington Killed in Commercial Vehicle Crash in Blue Earth County, Minnesota
A man from Wells, Minnesota, was traveling southbound on Highway 22 near Mapleton when his Buick was struck by an Isuzu truck at the intersection of Highway 22 and Highway 30. According to Minnesota State Patrol Lieutenant Casey Meagher, the truck had “failed to yield at the stop sign [at the intersection] and crashed into [the] passenger car.” The crash, which occurred Wednesday afternoon, resulted in the death of the driver of the car and in injuries to the driver of the commercial vehicle.
Lyon County Crash Results in Two Injuries
The State Patrol has reported that a Wednesday evening crash in Lyon county resulted in the hospitalization of the drivers of both involved vehicles. A man from Cottonwood was traveling southbound on County Road 9 and a man from Royalton, was traveling eastbound on Highway 23 when their vehicles collided at the intersection of the two roads. According to the State Patrol, both drivers were taken to the local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Failure to Stop Results in Collision with School Bus
On Monday morning, the Minnesota State Patrol responded to an accident in Polk County that involved a Pontiac Torrent and an International School Bus. According to its report, the school bus was turning northbound on County Road 2 when it was struck by a southbound Pontiac SUV. The driver of the SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Essentia Health-Fosston. There were no reported injuries to the driver of the school bus.
High-speed Motorcycle Chase Ends with Motorcyclist’s Death
The driver of a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle died on Tuesday after his attempted escape from a pursuing Minnesota State Patrol officer ended abruptly near Forest Lake. The pursuit of the motorcyclist began after an officer clocked the motorcyclist traveling between 130 and 140 mph while traveling southbound on I-35. In an attempt to evade arrest, the motorcyclist fled, traveling at high speeds, down I-35. After an extended chase, the suspect struck a semi truck and died.
