Can I Sue Chicken and Rice Guys for E. coli Food Poisoning?

Yes, you can sue Chicken and Rice Guys, LLC, for E. coli food poisoning if your illness can linked to food from one of the company’s Boston area stores or food trucks. Your lawsuit can seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.

Our law firm filed the first lawsuit against Chicken and Rice Guys, LLC, on behalf of a man who ordered food from the company online and had it delivered to his workplace in Suffolk County. Our food safety legal team, led by attorney Fred Pritzker, is helping this man and several others sickened in the Massachusetts outbreak that has sickened at least 15 people. You can contact them online using our free consultation form or by phone at 1-888-377-8900 (toll-free) if you were diagnosed with an E. coli O157 infection.

Below, Fred Pritzker, a national food safety lawyer, discusses the outbreak.

Hi, my name is Fred Pritzker, founder, and senior partner at the national law firm Pritzker Hageman. Our job, our passion, involves helping people harmed by dangerous foodborne pathogens.

This outbreak has been linked to food sold by a restaurant chain, Chicken & Rice Guys, that operates establishments and food trucks in the Boston area. Preliminary investigations show that 10 of the 14 people sickened in this outbreak were hospitalized.

According to published reports, the state department of health reported the outbreak occurred sometime between March 27th and 30th [2017] at either the chain’s Allston restaurant or from one of its food trucks. At least 7 of the 14 cases were caused by infected food at the Allston location.

E. coli infections can cause serious harm and even death, especially in young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea that is often bloody and vomiting. If there is a fever, it is usually not very high.
