Two Die in Semi Accident in Campbellsburg

Two people have been killed in a semi accident in Campbellsburg. The crash occurred on April 12, 2016 on I-71 southbound at the 35 mile marker, around 4:00 a.m. Preliminary investigations have discovered that the semi, traveling northbound, crossed the median and struck the passenger car head-on.

a 26-year-old, a passenger in the car, died at the scene. The driver of the car, a 23-year-old from Carollton, was critically wounded in the accident and was transported by Air Methods to the University of Louisville Hospital. He died later that evening. A Gofundme account has been set up for the injured passenger to help her family with expenses. The State Police, along with Henry County EMS, and the Campbellsburg Fire Department, is investigating to try to discover why the big rig crossed the median.
