Illinois Explosion Kills Two

Two people tragically died in a house explosion in Illinois yesterday, August 30, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. The Vermilion County Coroner’s office said they died of “blunt force trauma due to a blast explosion before the flames engulfed the house.”

The Vermilion County Coroner’s office released the names of the two people who died in the blast. They were Delores Sapp, 77, who owned the home, and Floyd Walton, 64, a family friend who was helping with the water heater.

The house was completely destroyed. It was located at 2716 East 1333 North Road, Fairmount, Illinois.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating to determine the cause of the blast.
