Woman Killed in Dump Truck Accident

A 69-year-old woman was tragically killed when a Kenworth dump truck hit her car on May 13, 2016. The accident happened at 1:21 p.m. on Route 6, also known as Main Street North.

The woman was driving a Subaru Legacy, moving west on Old Waterbury Road. Her car was hit on the driver’s side by a Jamark Construction dump truck that was traveling north. She was not responsive at the scene of the accident, and was sadly pronounced dead at Waterbury Hospital later that afternoon. The dump truck driver was not hurt in the accident. The Connecticut Department of Transportation, the Connecticut State Police, and the Southbury Highway Department are all investigating the accident.
