Kraft Chicken Recall due to Possible Contamination with Listeria Monocytogenes
On February 23, the Kraft chicken strip recall due to Listeria monocytogenes was extended (see February 18, 2007, Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich chicken recall announcement).  The Kraft chicken recall now includes all Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich chicken breast strips and cuts.  Listeria monocytogenes is an often-fatal foodborne pathogen, and the recalled Kraft chicken products listed below should not be eaten.

If you have eaten any of these products, do not throw away the leftovers for at least 70 days after consumption of the Kraft chicken.  The incubation period for Listeria monocytogenes can be as long as 70 days.  That means you may not get sick with a Listeria infection (listeriosis) for over 2 months after eating contaminated food.   Keep the leftovers in the refrigerator and label them, “DO NOT EAT.”  If you are diagnosed with Listeria monocytogenes, you should contact the Listeria lawyers at Pritzker | Ruohonen by calling toll-free at 1-888-377-8900 or submitting the firm’s online consultation formIf you have leftover Kraft chicken and have been diagnosed with listeriosis, you will need to tell a lawyer at Pritzker | Ruohonen because the leftover chicken will need to be tested.
