Menard's: Oscillating Ceramic Heater Recall
According to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Collins International Co. has voluntarily recalled about 20,000 oscillating ceramic heaters sold at Menards retail stores due to possible fire hazard. The heaters can overheat, smoke, or ignite which could pose a fire hazard to consumers. Read more about the oscillating ceramic heater recall.
General Electric Microwave Combo Wall Ovens Recall
The U.S. CPSC has announced a General Electric built-in combination wall and microwave oven recall due to possible fire hazard. According to the announcement, the door switch in the microwave oven can overheat and ignite plastic components in the control area, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Black & Decker Toaster Recall Due to Fire Hazard
The CPSC has announced the recall of about 70,000 Black & Decker toasters. According to the CPSC, an electrical component in the toaster can overheat and ignite the circuit board, posing a fire hazard. Read more about the Black & Decker toaster recall.
Thermador Oven Recall
June 29, 2007 - About 42,000 Thermador® Brand Built-In Ovens have been recalled. The oven can have gaps in the insulation where overheating can occur and when used in the self-cleaning mode it can cause nearby cabinets to overheat. This can pose a fire hazard to consumers. Lasko Ceramic Heater Recall
June 28, 2007 - About 1.2 million Lasko ceramic heaters have been recalled due to the risk of fire. The heater’s cord can overheat where it enters the base of the unit, which could pose a fire hazard to consumers. Lasko has received 28 reports of failed power cords, including six reports of minor property damage. Learn more about the Lasko heater recall.
Asko Dishwasher Recall
June 14, 2007 - The CPSC in cooperation with Asko Cylinda AB, today announced a voluntary recall of about 130,000 Asko dishwashers. An electrical component in the dishwasher can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. The firm has received 21 reports of dishwasher fires. Learn more about the Asko dishwasher recall.
General Electric Gas Stove Recall
General Electric has recalled about 2,600 GE Monogram® Professional Gas Ranges. These General Electric (GE) gas stoves have a design flaw that can cause an electrical arc between the wiring and griddle gas supply tube, posing a fire hazard. Consumers have been injured. Digital Security Smoke Alarm Recall
March 22, 2007 - Digital Security Controls has recalled about 32,000 Digital Security Controls FSA and FSB series smoke detectors. These smoke detectors could fail to reliably detect smoke during a fire. Learn more about the Digital Security smoke alarm recall.

Maytag and Jenn-Air Dishwasher Recall
February 1, 2007 - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Maytag Corp., has announced a voluntary recall of about 2.3 million Maytag and Jenn-Air dishwashers. Liquid rinse-aid can leak from the dishwasher's dispenser and come into contact with the dishwasher’s internal wiring, which can short-circuit and ignite, posing a fire hazard. Boiler Recall Due to Scald Hazard
The CPSC has announced the recall of about 850 boilers. A malfunction may result in scald injuries. Learn more about the boiler recall.
Holmes Oscillating Tower Fan
January 24, 2007 - CPSC and the Holmes Group have announced a voluntary recall of about 300,000 Holmes oscillating tower fans. Electrical arcing in the fan’s wiring can cause a fire hazard. Water Cooler Recall
January 22, 2007 - DC Waters or America in cooperation with the CPSC has recalled about 8,700 water coolers that pose a fire hazard. DS Waters has received 20 reports of the water cooler making either a crackling noise or catching on fire, including five reports of property damage. Learn more about the recalled water coolers.
Delta Bathtub and Shower Head Valves
October 25, 2006 – The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 105,000 Delta bathtub and shower head valves which may cause scald injuries. Each year, approximately 3,800 injuries and 34 deaths occur in the home due to scalding from excessively hot tap water. Learn more about the recall of Delta bathtub and shower head valves.
Black & Decker® Coffeemaker Recall
June 6, 2006 – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall of about 420,000 Black & Decker® Brand Thermal Coffeemakers. The coffeemaker may not turn off as programmed, causing the unit to overheat and melt, and posing a risk of fire and burn injury. Nexgrill Gas Grill Recall
June 1, 2006 – The U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 16,000 Nexgrill gas grills manufactured by Nexgrill Industries Inc., of City of Industry, California. According to the CPSC announcement, Nexgrill has received 31 incident reports, including 28 fires, three hoses melting, two cases of property damage, and four injuries. Tyco Smoke Detector Recall and Tyco Fire Detection System Recall
May 19, 2006 – Tyco Fire and Security of Boca Raton, Florida, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), initiated a smoke detector recall involving about 128,000 units and a fire detection system recall involving about 21,000 units. Turbo Sport Portable Gas Grill
February 23, 2006–The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Barbeques Galore Inc., of Lake Forest, California, announced the recall of about 1,800 Turbo Sport Portable Infrared LP Gas Grills. The grills have faulty regulators that can release too much gas to the burner causing an excessive burner flame. This also poses a risk of gas leaks, fires and explosions if an ignition source is present. There have been 18 reports of excessive flame or the regulator shutting off. Oscillating Heaters Sold at Wal-Mart
January 26, 2006–In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), King of Fans Inc., of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is voluntarily recalling about 75,000 Maxi-Heat™ Dream Tower Heaters. The wires inside the oscillating heater can short circuit and spark, posing a fire hazard to consumers. This product has allegedly caused one house fire. November 17, 2005 - The CPSC is recalling Vapor-Eze Waterless Vaporizers and Vapor-Eze Aromatherapy Diffusers. 6 fires have been reported. One young child has been hospitalized for burn injuries on the face and hands. Read information on fire and burn injuries
