The following Toll House recall lawsuit information is provided by Pritzker Olsen attorneys. To contact our National E. coli law firm, please call toll-free at 1-888-377-8900 or submit the firm's free case consultation form.
On June 19, 2009, Nestle USA's Baking Division initiated a voluntary recall of Nestle Toll House refrigerated cookie dough products because of possible contamination of E. coli O157:H7, a bacteria that can cause serious injury or death. (See list of recalled products below.)
The CDC and FDA have associated a multistate E. coli O157:H7 outbreak with recalled Nestle Toll House cookie dough. According to the most recent CDC update on the outbreak, at least 80 people from 31 states have contracted E. coli infections after eating the cookie dough. 35 people had been hospitalized, including 10 with a serious complication called hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS).
What to Do If You Think You are Part of The E. coli Outbreak Associated with the Nestle Toll House Recall
- Keep all receipts, used packaging, or unused packaging of any Toll House cookie dough products you may have. Read about testing Nestle Toll House cookie dough for E. coli O157:H7.
- DO NOT eat any leftover Toll House cookie dough products.
- If you are currently suffering from cramping and diarrhea, and have recently eaten or may have come into contact with Toll House cookie dough, go to the doctor for treatment and request a test for E. coli O157:H7. E. coli can be a life threatening illness. While at the doctor, make sure you get a stool sample taken. This is the best way to prove you are part of this outbreak.
- If you are diagnosed with an E. coli infection, contact Pritzker Olsen Attorneys at 1-888-377-8900 (toll free) to discuss your potential case. Pritzker Olsen attorneys are nationally known in the area of food safety litigation and represent victims of foodborne outbreaks across America.
