Free Consultation with Lawyer
Our E. coli lawyers are available for a free consultation regarding a Schucks E. coli lawsuit. Most of the people sickened in the St. Louis area E. coli outbreak ate food from a Schnucks salad bar. Our lawyers can help E. coli victims and their families who deserve compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, emotional distress and other damages.
The St. Louis E. coli outbreak has sickened at least dozens of people in the following Missouri counties: St. Louis County, Jefferson County, St. Charles County and St. Clair County.
As of November 1, 2011, investigators have discovered that 85% of patients who reported shopping at Schnuck's stores also reported obtaining food from the salad bar. Investigators have not determined which food or foods from the salad bar sickened the E. coli victims. Investigators are collecting environmental samples from plants that processed Schnucks salad bar items: lettuce, spinach, strawberries, dressings, and bags of salad mix (mixed greens). These plants are not owned by Schnucks, and some of them are not located in Missouri.
Even if the food source is not found, there is enough evidence for some of the E. coli victims to sue Schnucks.
Several people have been hospitalized with severe dehydration, abdominal cramps and other symptoms of E. coli. In addition, some victims of this outbreak have developed serious complications of E. coli, hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), which can cause kidney failure, stroke, heart attacks, and brain injuries.
Schnucks and the responsible supplier need to be held accountable for these illnesses.
