Costco Lawsuit:
Attorneys for E. coli and HUS Victims

Our attorneys have filed lawsuits against Costco
on behalf of food poisoning victims.

Pritzker Olsen attorneys have filed Costco lawsuits on behalf of E. coli food poisoning victims sickened by Bravo Farms gouda cheese served as samples at Costco stores in Arizona, Colorado, California, New Mexico and Nevada. Our E. coli attorneys have successfully represented food poisoning victims in these states.

Our attorneys are representing many of the 33 people sickened in this outbreak. We are representing the one person who developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a severe illness that causes kidney failure and may cause brain damage, heart problems, pancreatitis, blindness and death. Our HUS client almost died many time and will never fully recover.

The CDC has reported that the E. coli 0157:H7 associated with this outbreak is a strain of E. coli O157:H7 that has never been seen before in the PulseNet database. Furthermore, the CDC reported that laboratory testing conducted on two opened packages of the cheese purchased at Costco from the homes of two different case patients has identified E. coli O157:H7 matching the outbreak strain.

Our law firm has recovered millions from grocery stores and food manufacturers for E. coli and HUS victims and their families. Most E. coli victims are children. In these cases, the children and the parents have legal rights against those responsible for the E. coli O157:H7 infection and resulting complications, including HUS.

Costco E. coli Lawsuit: Liability and Compensation

By serving food to the public, a grocery store is essentially guaranteeing that the food product is safe. If it turns out that any portion of that food is not safe, and people become sick as a result, the grocery store can be held responsible.

In this case, Costco served Bravo Farms gouda cheese contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Both Costco and Bravo Farms are responsible to pay the following to those sickened by the cheese:

  • Medical expenses
  • Lost income
  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional distress
  • Disability
  • Loss of quality of life
  • Other damages
