E. coli Recall: Foxy Lettuce from California

On October 8, 2008, Nunes Company of Salinas Valley, California, recalled green-leaf lettuce distributed under the Foxy brand because tests revealed E. coli contamination of a water reservoir that had been used to irrigate the lettuce plants.

Most of the recalled lettuce has been recovered.  Cartons of the recalled California, Foxy-brand lettuce are labeled "Green Leaf 24 Count, waxed carton" or "Green Leaf 18 Count, cellophane sleeve, returnable carton." They are also marked with a lot code: 6SL0024. The lettuce was distributed in California and other Western states.

If you have eaten any Foxy brand lettuce, you should watch for symptoms of E. coli O157:H7, including nausea, cramps, mild fever and bloody diarrhea.  If you have bloody diarrhea, go to the doctor and ask to be tested for E. coli poisoning.

If you have eaten Foxy lettuce and are diagnosed with E. coli, a lawyer at Pritzker | Olsen, P.A. , can help you understand your legal rights and remedies.  Pritzker | Olsen, P.A. is a nationally-recognized food poisoning litigation lawfirm and has recovered millions for victims of food poisoning, including a recent settlement for over $6,000,000.  To contact an E. coli lawyer at the firm for a free consultation, please call toll-free at 1-888-377-8900, e-mail info@pritzkerlaw.com or fill out the online, attorney-consultation form.
