E. coli Recall: Wellsley Mushrooms

Wellsley MushroomsBJ’s Wholesale Club has recalled Wellsley Farms mushrooms due to possible contamination with E. coli.  According to a story by CNN, BJ’s Wholesale Club has not received any reports of E. coli infections resulting from consumption of the mushrooms.

If you have Wellsley mushrooms, DO NOT EAT THEM.  You should not throw them away until you are sure no one has become ill.  The incubation period for E. coli can be 12 days, although usually it is much less.  Read about E. coli symptoms.  Keep the mushrooms in the refrigerator for 14 days after the date of last consumption.  Clearly mark them, “DO NOT EAT!”
