4-Year-Old Choked on a Grape and
Died at Golden Heart Child Care Center

A 4-year-old from North Mankato, choked on a whole grape while being cared for at a child care center in Mankato.  She was unresponsive with no pulse by the time police arrived at the daycare.

She was pronounced dead at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota.

The police investigation into the girl's death is focusing in part on how she got the whole grape.  Police are also investigating whether there were any licensing violations or maltreatment at the child care center.
