FDA has announced a bean salad recall due to possible contamination with Clostridium botulinum, the bacterium that causes botulism. The manufacturer, Walker's Food Products Company of North Kansas City, Missouri, recalled its 16oz. packages of Four Bean Salad packaged under the Kay’s Gourmet brand name and 5-lb. and 10-lb. containers of Four Bean Salad packaged under the Walker’s Food Products Co. brand name. Botulism: Italian Olives

The FDA has made an urgent announcement regarding the Italian olives recalled due to possible contamination with Clostridium botulinum, which can cause botulism.  The affected brands include: Bonta di Puglia, Cento, Corrado's, Dal Raccolto, Flora, Roland and Vantia.  All sizes of cans, glass jars and pouches of Cerignola, Nocerella and Castelvetrano type olives are affected.  Learn more about the recalled Italian olives.

February 16, 2007 - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers not to use certain jars of Earth’s Best Organic 2 Apple Peach Barley Wholesome Breakfast baby food because of the risk of contamination with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause botulism, a life-threatening illness or death. Botulism Recall: Russian Sea Atlantic Herring

January 30, 2007 -- Royal International Trading, Inc. is recalling uneviscerated "Russian Sea" Atlantic herring. "Russian Sea" Atlantic herring was discovered by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors during a routine inspection and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel confirmed that the fish had not been eviscerated prior to processing.  Learn more about the herring recalled due to botulism risk.
