Arctic Cat Turbo Recall

Thief River Falls, Minn.-based Arctic Cat Inc., recalled about 3,000 Arctic Cat Turbo snowmobiles on October 28, 2009, according to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission.

Oil leakage into the engine compartment of these units creates a fired hazard for consumers and has resulted in 33 reports of leaks and eight snowmobiles fires but no injuries have been reported.

Units affected include: Model Year 2009 Arctic Cat Z1 Turbo, Z1 Turbo Sno Pro and TZ1 Turbo model snowmobiles. Consumers can find the model name and number on the side of the unit or in the owner’s manual. These vehicles were sold nationwide from June 2008 through July 2009. Consumers who own these models should stop using them immediately.
