Campus Cruisers Eastside Fix Recall
On July 7, 2010, Campus Cruisers LLC, of Boulder, Colorado, recalled about 100 Eastside Fix Bicycles because the bicycle’s front fork can crack or break, causing a sudden loss of steering control and posing a fall hazard to bicyclists.

Deda Forza Bicycle Handlebar Stem Recall
Deda Elementi S.r.l., of Italy has recalled Deda Forza bicycle handlebar stems because they may crack and cause the rider to fall and suffer personal injury.

Bicycle Pedals Recall

Cannondale Mountain Bike Recall
June 13, 2007 - Cannondale Bicycle Corp. has recalled about 6,700 Cannondale mountain bikes with Lefty Speed SL and Lefty Speed DLR Forks.   The forks can break during use causing the rider to lose control of the bicycle, fall and suffer serious injuries.  Learn more about the Cannondale mountain bike recall.

SRAM Force Bike Brake Caliper Recall
April 10, 2007 – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of about 5,400 SRAM Force road brake caliper sets.  The bike brake caliper sets could break and detach from the bicycle’s fork or frame. Bike Pedal Recall
October 25, 2006 – The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 18,000 Time Sport RXS bike pedals, which may pose a fall hazard for riders.  Each year, approximately 45,000 people are injured and over 500 people are killed in bike accidents.  Learn more about the bike pedal recall.
 
Bicycle Recall: Defective Face Plate
On June 22, 2006, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 2,700 bicycles.  The bicycles were recalled because the faceplates holding the handlebars on the bicycle can crack and cause the handlebar to break off, posing a serious fall hazard. Children’s Bicycles
December 22, 2005—The CPSC and Recreational Equipment Inc., of Kent, Washington, announced the recall of about 2,800 children’s bicycles sold as Novara Dirt Rider bicycles. The frame of the bicycles can be prone to fatigue failure. Frame failure results in the separation of the fork, head tube, and handlebar away from the rest of the bike causing a loss of control and crash, posing a risk of serious injury to the rider. Recreational Equipment Inc. has received 4 reports of frames failing, all resulting in crashes.  

Recall of Schwinn Bicycle Child Carriers Due to Risk of Falling
On May 9, 2006, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 14,000 Schwinn bicyle child carriers.  The carrier is a seat for a child that is attached to the back of an adult bicycle.  The manufacturer has received five reports of the bicycle child carriers falling.  Read more about the Schwinn bicycle child carrier recall.
