Tyco Smoke Detector Recall and Tyco Fire Detection System Recall

On May 19, 2006, Tyco Fire and Security of Boca Raton, Florida, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), initiated a smoke detector recall involving about 128,000 units and a fire detection system recall involving about 21,000 units.  The products involved in the recalls could experience reduced sensitivity to smoke in conditions of high humidity and high temperature.  If this occurs, the smoke detectors or the sensors in the fire detection systems could delay detecting the presence of smoke in the event of a fire.

The recalled smoke detectors and fire detection systems were installed in commercial buildings throughout the United States after August 1, 2004. The model numbers listed below are included.
